| Gandalf_the_White09-04-07, 10:40 PM | Hi All. Could somebody please help me out with some questions. I do apologise for the lengthy description. 1. Do you have to first reach +5 bonus before you can select weapon abilities? Could you have a +1 Keen Longsword at 2nd level? 2. As a Kensai progresses in levels, he is able to add more bonuses to his signature weapon. It would then stand to reason that on attaining 1st level you would add +1 or a +1 ability to the weapon, on 2nd level +2 or an additional +1 ability. So what happens if you reach 6th level and you already have a say +3 weapon with keen and ki strike (making it +5) and you want a vorpal ability (say +1 and vorpal making it +6). Can you do this, just change the weapon powers and expend the appropriate xp to do so? It seems unlikely that a Kensai would have to either a. Wait 6 levels of kensai before imbuing their weapon or b. Have to discard their weapon and start over which would be considered a violation of their code. Thanks |

You do not get the equal of a +55 weapon at 10th level. There is no built in mechanism (that i know of) that allows you to swap out your weapons abilities. If you want a vorpal weapon you have to wait (you can have it enchanted to +1 prior) or start over. |
