Knight Protector's have Defensive Stance, which is they can transfer up to 5 Armor class points, at level 10 to an ally within 5 feet of them. Knight Protector of the Great Kingdom, have Defensive Blow which can add up to +5 on their attack bonus, and damage. I think Knight Protector wins on that, having a bonus to attack seems better than putting myself at risk for allies, also the fact that I have to be within 5 feet, isn't that convenient. However, at level 10 Knight Protector, gains an ability that if an ally of his is rendered helpless or unconscious he can add his charisma bonus to his attack bonus, and deals an extra 10 damage. They have the same requirements. Knight Protector of the Great Kingdom, gains proficenecy with all simple and martial weapons, all armor and shields. Knight Protector gains Tower Shields. Im entering this class as a knight so I have most of the proficencies already. Anyways, what is better in your eyes? Thanks. |

If you're trying to build a character that devotes themselves to protecting others, the Knight Protector is the better class. Based on your statement that "having a bonus to attack seems better than putting myself at risk for allies" it sounds more like you are building an offense-based character, in which case it might be better to consider an entirely different group of Prestige Classes (the specific nature of which is left as an exercise for the reader), but if it must be one of those two it sounds like the KP of the GK would be better suited to the concept you're working with. I was going to be snarky about your statement that a bonus to attack seemed better than risking yourself for allies, but after a moment's thought I remembered that everyone's character is different; perhaps yours is more interested in glory than the ones I'm currently playing. So no snark from me... today, at least. To each their desired flavor - enjoy the game! Light and laughter, SongCoyote |
