Is there a prestige class that focuses on leading men into battle? I mean Leadership feat would allow any class to become a leader, but It would be awesome to have an army at your own command instead of a simple squad of level 1's, I mean if necromancers can do it why cant we!

Would the Legendary Leader PrC from Heroes of Battle help?

Also available is the Marshal, the Crusader, and the Warblade, all of whom can absolutely do the whole leadership thing quite well, by buffing their troops.

Meanwhile, there's always the Thrallherd.

Almost forgot! Orc Warlord!

And Hathran, although it has a different focus.

ill check those out sometime, If they dont then ill just customize my own class. Ill probably base it off of the Bard (as far as buffing goes)

Ok just checked, i dont have Hero's of battle

If you want a sick buffer, try a Bard/Sublme Chord/War Weaver.

If you haven't ruled out Psionics there is always the Thrallheard PrC. It's in the XPH / SRD. It uses the same table from the Leadership feat, but it leads to higher numbers. The epic Leadership feat also leads for scores higher then 25 as well.

I'll say. Any class that gives you two cohorts definitely improves the leadership feat ;)

Horned Harbringer... if you're evil.

Sadly, it gets awful in Epic, because it doesn't improve there, and you cannot get Epic Leadership or Legendary Commander.

Why can't you get those epic feats?

Legendary Tactician from Dragonlance campaign setting also files that role quite well (in addition to the classes provided by other poster), providing bonuses similar to a bard and giving you a bonus to your leadership score, as well as the Knight of the Rose (which is more setting flavored).

The Dragon Shaman also as a way with his auras, akin to the marshall (is not as good though). Dragon Lord (PrC from dragon magic, I think it's the correct name) is a leader too.

Because when you become a Thrallherd, you lose the Leadership feat if you have it, and you cannot gain it ever again, so you wouldn't be able to gain the feats based off Leadership.

Legendary Capitan, from Stormwrack.
Beastmaster, from Dungeonscape (sort of).
Druid 20 and spam Leadership on yourself and your Animal Companion. You take, your companion takes it, then your Cohort and your Cohort's Companion take it, and so on. Soon, you will have an army of Druids. And their pets.

Legendary Capitan, from Stormwrack.

That's the class that Patrick Stewart took levels in.

(Ahab + Q's moniker for Picard "mon capitan")

But it's not really an unreasonable houserule.

Though it would be a houserule.

Indeed it wouldn't be unreasonable. Yet there probably are quite a few DM's who wouldn't allow it. Especially pre-Epic. I mean, imagine a Psion (with Mindlink) 10/Thrallherd 10 with 24 or so Charisma (and 19 Int) and the Leadership feat. That person, on his own (and with those he got through the Thrallherd levels and the Leadership feat), could easily bring down any CR 20 creature, and also quite a few with CR 20+.

Well, yes, obviously I wouldn't allow comparable epic progression pre-epic. o.O

More to the point: Allow the Thrallherd progression to translate into Epic Leadership directly. It does replace, therefore should count as a qualification.

That's what I was thinking. Of course, if you'd use this variant, you would certainly lose leadership.

Hence why you shouldn't take Leadership if you're going for Thrallherd, but rather Undead Leadership or such. :D
