Sutemi 02-23-07, 02:49 AM	Ok, the title isn't very clear, but let me explain: I have a DM that doesn't allow flying characters due to balance issues, but I'd like to play antromorphic owl or perhaps aarakocra. I could always write something up in the background that makes him unable to fly, but I'd like some game-mechanic solution to this. Any suggestions?

Add into your background that a demon ripped off your wings or some such(maybe ask the DM to reduce your level adjustment by 1 to compensate or give you some other benefit). Are you looking for some random template that removes the ability to fly or something rediculous like that?

I think it's perfectly fair question. ....you want to play an Anthromorphic Flying creature that can't fly....yep fair enough, say you were born with deformed wings or that your dad was a badger so you have clawed arms instead of wings...
