looking for bard/ranger prestige [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-11-07, 12:09 AM Hello,im new to D&D.I was wondering if anyone could post some prestige classes that are like rangers or bard. By that I mean classes that involve bows and bardic music stuff. I saw somewhere someone post something that showed the hit die,pre req, and feats. If you could do this is would be appreciated:) .

11-11-07, 03:03 AM The Harper Paragon, from Player's Guide to Faerun, is a good Bard-Ranger hybrid PrC.

It's best combined with 2 levels in the Sublime Chord for maximum spellcasting.

A hypothetical build could be Ranger1/Bard7/HP2/SC2/HP8.

11-11-07, 10:31 AM be more spesific...like i said I'm new and I don't really know how to be more spesific. All i can say is im looking for a prestige that can use the bow and duel weapon and use bardic music. Sorry im still trying to learn about this game.

11-11-07, 05:27 PM PrCs usually have some features of the base class that they don't advance. There are some that advance combat and bardic music... but usually at the expense of spellcasting. If that's okay, the Warchanter from Complete Warrior can be a good idea. The Eldritch Knight and Abjurant champion improve your magic and combat skills, but don't advance your music.

From a purely mechanical perspective, the Master of Yuirwood from Unapproachable East has a good synergy, advances your spellcasting and eventually gives you divine grace - always useful for a character with high charisma.

Personally, I'd let rangers learn Druidic provided they spend the 2 ranks to get it. To get into the PRC in this way I'd say as Ranger 9/Bard 2, but you're going to have to buy a bunch of cross-class skills to do it. There is a feat that lets you buy cross class skills at 1 rank each though.

Still, Ranger/Bard lacks a lot of options as a class combo. Bard/Druid has a few more.

I know there are feats like "Swift Hunter" that are for Ranger/Scouts, maybe your DM would approve a feat in the same line that would stack Bard and Ranger levels for Favored Enemy and Bardic Music?
