This appears to be the best single "you get to be Captain Versatile!" PrC out there, especially if one is playing the Batman style wizard.

But... how the heck does anyone keep track of all the spells? I am only level 8, and we're using only PHB, PHBII and SC for spell sources, but there must be at least a couple hundred spells between those sources for the 4 levels that I have access to for now. Great being able to cast any of them at a moment's notice (one round actually) but how do those of you that play the class keep them all straight?

Kind of the same way you do when choosing which spells to prepare each day as a Cleric. Just keep a small list of the spells you find most interesting, or most valuable to have access to :)

The DM is within his rights to rule that the Arcane Order spellpool only contains certain spells. The spellpool is populated by all the other spellcasters in the order, who are (neccesarily) NPCs. And maybe the order itself has rules about what spels are permitted to be put in the pool.

Realistically - make up a list of common spells that you would expect always to be there (anything from the srd, for instance), and the DM might wish to ban some spells by school or sourcebook. Maybe impose a percntage chance of really exotic things being there. Work it out between you.

In fact, the Spellpool section even says that by default, only PHB spells are available, and that the DM specifically has to allow more.
