Hello,
With out access to books at the moment and time contstraints playing in, would anyone be willing to post, please, the pre-req's for the Magelord prestige class in Lost Empires of Faerun?

Many thanks...

Runestar, I appreciate the response. The server I work on however has quite the extensive filter, pretty much I can visit cnn.com and most online forums so that above link is a bust for me

Copied and pasted from the link above.

Skills: Intimidate 3 ranks, Knowledge (history) 6 ranks, Knowledge (arcana) 6 ranks.

Feats: Improved Initiative, Spell Mastery, Signature Spell[PG], Weapon Focus (ray).

Spells: Ability to cast 5th-level arcane spells.

Special: You must have the evasion special quality as either a class feature or a racial trait.

Special: You may not be lawful in alignment.

Special: You must be tutored by a magelord or obtain rare tomes to study the tradition. Either option costs no less than 10,000 gp or a service of equivalent value.

It is suggested to lower the casting prerequisite to level 4, as per unofficial errata.

Or do away with the need for evasion, which honestly makes no sense...:(

Why? The Magelord is a arcanist/rogue PrC, so it needs some rogueish prerequisite.

Well, to me, the main draw of the prc is its ability to cast so many spells spontaneously, but it seems to primarily remain a spellcasting prc. The roguish prerequisite seemed to have been slotted in at the last minute as an afterthought.

I admit that the flavour of the prc does entail a certain "roguish" feel to it, but that it something which should be roleplayed, not enforced by effectively requiring you to take rogue lvs.

The need for evasion, and the casting requirements means your tenth level in the PrC is 20th, which gets under my skin, the ability is amazing yes, but easily controlled even as low as 12th or 13th, i'm no writer or designer but this could have been a five level PrC with no evasion as a prereq, a more spread out skill list as prereq's perhaps, make casting level need of 4th, and run with it. /shrug...

thank you all for the help.

21st lv actually. I know of no way of accessing evasion at 1st lv, so you need to be rogue2/wiz9 before you can take your 1st lv of magelord. This means that your 10th lv of magelord kicks in only at epic lvs.:(

Ring of evasion?

Ring of evasion?

Icky workaround, the designer's unofficial errata is ok, but I prefer dropping the evasion requirement myself.

Ring of evasion?
That's cheating.

A ring of evasion is neither a class feature nor a racial trait. Rings of evasion may work for fochlucan lyrists, but definitely not for magelords.

If you can count "prescient sense" as "evasion," then the divine oracle could do it, but that's kinda dubious rules-wise. I got nothing.

There's a PrC in Dragon Magic / Races of the Dragon that grants Evasion at 1st level... Heavy requirments, however.

Ooh, oh, I know...

Wizard 5/Combat Medic 5/ Magelord 10

Combat medic is a prc out of the Heroes of Battle book that grants evasion. You need to have the feat Arcane Domain (Healing) from Complete Divine... I think that's the name... to get into combat medic as a wizard. Human and Able learner help out with the skill prerequistes. You'll wind up with full casting and the ability to spontaneously cast heal spells, which is odd but cool.

I could be forgetting something, though...

There is also a way that is more interpretation rather than RAW... Divine Oracle has an evasion like feature... it's even better as it can be used in any armor... but the wording is that it is 'like evasion' but a DM might let it slide.

Official PrC guidelines says PrC must not cross the epic border. It has either to be possible to take last PrC level as 20'th level, or first PrC level shouldn't be possible before Epic. The only exceptions in official material are PrCs for dragons (but old dragons and older can take Epic feats and features no matter of actual HD, so they are giant exception on their own anyway), and a Magelord...

Imho it strongly suggest some editing mistake on Magelord. The "don't treat requirements as a sacrifice, treat them as things you will build on" idea (do I recall guidelines right?) and Evasion for this PrC just don't make sence...
