| Suspect_Unusual03-07-08, 10:32 PM | So... In the specific text of the Mo9 maneuver section, it states you gain an additional maneuver readied per day. Is the "per day" addendum a typo, or does it imply that the extra meneuver you gain is only usable once per day, or can't be changed the usual way once readied? From the table, one would just assume the maneuvers readied and known would be added to (one of) the maneuvers readied and known of your base class. I have an engineer for a DM, so keep that in mind. Thanks! Edit: Also, how would this interact with Adaptive Style? |
| Mr_Teapot03-08-08, 09:33 AM | I think that either A) it is a remnant of an earlier version of the ToB rules that worked on a per day basis or B) the person writing it didn't think about Adaptive Style (despite being a prereq for Mo9). Probably B, actually. But if you don't have Adaptive style, a martial adept prepares maneuvers at the beginning of the day, sort of like a wizard prepping spells, and then is stuck with them. (Actually, it's most like Spirit Shamans, but that's another thread.) So it ultimately just means that you can have an extra maneuver readied. If there were additional limitations (like only being able to use that maneuver once per day) then those limitations would need to be spelled out. Since there are no additional limitations described, we must use the standard rules for maneuvers for this extra maneuver. |
| runestar03-08-08, 09:38 AM | It just means that the base martial adept class you chose to apply Mo9 to can ready an extra maneuver/day. There is still no limit on how often you can choose them, apart from how quickly you can refresh them. For instance, say I am a warblade15/Mo95 (using martial study to qualify). I can now ready 11 maneuvers each day (6 from warblade15, 5 from Mo9). I refresh all of them whenever I use the warblade refresh mechanic or adaptive style. I use all my maneuvers accessible to me as a warblade would. I can change them all just as readily by virtue of adaptive style. From the table, one would just assume the maneuvers readied and known would be added to (one of) the maneuvers readied and known of your base class. You assumed correctly then.:) |
