Hi all,

I just got my copy of the Miniatures handbook yesterday and have been leafing through it (sparingly). At any rate I noticed the Havoc Mage Prc...it's battlecast ability isn't described very well and I wonder how it works.

Can a Havoc Mage choose to cast a spell then attack or must he, according to the wording, attack then cast a spell? This ability seems pretty cool, though I am sure it has some method of abuse I am missing.

Has anyone ever tried the class ? Is it broken, weak, powerful or average?

thanx

You attack and cast at the same time. That's how I read it. It loses 2 caster levels, so most people will tell you that it sucks. I really like it because it gives you the ability to cast "just in case". If something goes horribly wrong and you're completely surrounded, it's nice to be able to drop a Flaming Burst or whatever without worrying about attacks of opportunity. It just seems like a nifty little class that can help with survivability.
