More than one Prestige Class... [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-07-07, 06:04 AM Can a Character take more than one PrC... like say a Ranger who takes archery as his combat style, and then gains some levels in Deepwood Sniper, Order of the Bow Initiate and Arcane Archer.

Lets say that the character meets the requirements for all of the above PrC's, can it be done, or is there a limit on the number of Prestige Classes per character?

Some DMs limit it somewhat, since a character that looks like XX 2/AA 2/DD 1/TT4/PrC 2/PrC 4/PrC 5 may annoy some.

Specifically, consider a Mystic Theurge build.

You are 3 druid/3wizard/10 Mystic Theurge.

OK, no more Mystic Theurge allowed until you hit 21.

So what are you going to do for the next 4 levels?

If you are forced to go either druid/wizard you are getting the shaft.

If you are allowed to instead continue with Arcane Hierophant, another dual class divine/arcane build, then you can make it to level 20 and actually get 9th level spells in both druid and Wizard.
