Probably too strong as written compared to most melee classes but still weaker than full spellcasters. Something you may want to consider is changing it from core classes to base classes. It'd be weird to allow some prestige classes and not some base classes to qualify.

I meant base class. Also it is only suposed to be a 3 level PrC. Is that better?

Well this class is balanced, but no one would take it past level 1 of it since it offers nothing to you after that level. If you are taking 5 different base classes you are better off gain a level of one of those classes instead of this one.

The only real benefits to this class is the save boost that you character will get from this class. This massive boost only happens on the first level of the class so taking the next level of this class doesn't help and you will just continue on your way.

Spellcasters won't take this class since it has no increase of spellcasting capabilities in slots.

The skills points gain are only good at first level were you can dump a bucket load into any cross class skills you wanted and place them on the level of you class skills in the other base classes you have, but after the first level of this class it can only increase by one unless you do the massive dump on other skills on the next level.

Is this class broken? Not really, it will definitely not outshine the party since most class features are better than most feats at this point of the game. It will give a boost to passive defenses and massive skill boosts. The feats that someone going into this class to qualify for would not really break the game.

You may want to consider adding "you no longer take multiclassing XP penalties for having base classes 2 or more levels apart" to 1st level, and "+1 level of existing spellcasting or manifesting class" to the 2nd and 3rd levels.

I like that, except I will have to add the no XP penalty at 3rd level, otherwise you would only need a one level dip to get that benefit.

Not broken considering a first level rogue and the able learner feat making all skills class skills.

If this were a longer class it would be overpowered. As is, it is pretty strong, but that requirement of 5 base classes could be rough.

Well, the thing is,
1) That's actually a type of ability most appropriate to 1st level (look to the Fochlucan Lyrist for an example),
2) Now your spellcasting progression is weirdly non-standard too, because whenever a PrC only has 4/5 or 9/10 spellcasting, it always leaves the spellcasting out at 1st level.

I find it extremely unlikely that a non-spellcaster who goes to the trouble of qualifying for this PrC, will leave it after 1st level just because of that ability; having maximum HD characteristics and a bonus feat every level will make them wish that there were more than 3 levels.

On the other hand, a spellcaster who goes to the trouble of qualifying for this PrC, will definately abandon ship after 2nd level for another spellcasting PrC (which wouldn't count against multiclassing XP penalties anyway), if it grants spellcasting at 1st-2nd, instead of 2nd-3rd.

(Also, I assume you want this all to look as standard and professional as possible.)

I really like this class, but I'm having a really hard time finding away to make a character I'd actually want to play with it. I'll think about it some more tonight, see if I can do anything interesting with it.

:u: I agree with LC. Some abilities are meant to be capstone abilities, but other abilities are meant to be introductory abilities. Greater multiclassing is definately something that should be a 1st level ability; the spellcasting advancement should be happening at 2nd and 3rd. :r:
