| Magius_Rerecros04-04-07, 04:41 PM | Note that this PrC was the creation of Bob_The_Wizard, not me. But I thought it was interesting, and he was too lazy to post it here, so I'm doing it for him. Epic Prestige Class: Multiversal Shifter The most powerful of planeshifters eventually figure out the secrets of traveling between the multiverses. These wanderers gain incredible planar power, at the expense of a bit of their spell advancement. Hit Die: d4 Requirements: To become a multiversal shifter, a character must meet the following criteria: Skills: Concentration 24 ranks, Knowledge (The Planes) 20 ranks, Spellcraft 24 ranks. Feats: Craft Wondrous Item Special: Must have been to a multiverse other than the one they were born in before taking this prestige class, and must have Demiplane Seed as a class feature. Class Skills: A multiversal shifter's class skills (and the key ability for each) are as follows: Alchemy (Int), Concentration (Con), Craft (Any) (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (The Planes) (Int), Knowledge (Arcana) (Int), Knowledge (Religion) (Int), Perform (Cha), Profession (Any) (Wis), Ride (Dex), Search (Int), Speak Language (None), Spellcraft (Int), and Swim (Str). See Chapter 4: Skills in the Player's Handbook for skill descriptions. The multiversal shifter receives skill points at each level equal to 6+int modifier. Weapon and armor proficiency: Multiversal shifters gain no additional proficiency with any weapons or armor. Multiversal Shift (Sp): At first level, a multiversal shifter gains the power to, through epic magic, break the barriers between multiverses and travel between them. This functions like the Plane Shift spell, except that it takes the multiversal shifter and any willing allies to a random place on a random plane of a specific multiverse. This does not use normal methods of interdimensional travel, and thus is barred by nothing short of epic magic. Even then, the shifter gets an opposed caster level check to bypass the lock. At eighth level, he can use this ability at will. Great Planeshifting (Ex): The multiversal shifter perfects his planeshifter abilities, and gets certain bonuses to these, as follows. His demiplane now takes one week to complete; his plane shift ability functions as greater plane shift; he gains intuitive, nonmagical control of reality on his demiplane (meaning he can shape matter and space however he pleases at will); and his grant planar survival ability now lasts for 1d4 days instead of just one. In addition, multiversal shifter class levels count as planeshifter levels for determining any planeshifter abilities. Manipulate Portal (Su): At 2nd level and above, the multiversal shifter gains the ability to track small planar distortions and use them to find portals. He gains the ability to find portals as a dimensional tant can, by making a DC 30 Knowledge (The Planes) check. In addition, the multiversal shifter can sunder a portal by attacking it with any melee weapon. Permanent portals are suppressed for 1d6 days, while portals created by spells are destroyed. Discern Comology (Ex): The multiversal shifter of 3rd level or higher can discern the layout of the cosmology that they are currently in. By meditating for ten minutes on the planar fluxes that they detect, they can descern the layout of the planes of the cosmology, their layers, the traits of those layers, and the relationship of the planes to one another (separate, coterminous, or coexistent.) In addition, this allows them to use one-half their Knowledge (The Planes) ranks as normal in this cosmology. Bypass Lock (Ex): At fourth level, the multiversal shifter learns to bypass dimensional locks by going through the multiverses instead of the Astral. Nothing short of epic magic can stop his interdimensional travel now, and even then he is entitled to an opposed caster level check to bypass the lock anyway. Lesser Shunting (Su): By fifth level, the multiversal shifter figures out how to summon and banish other creatures by manipulating planar fluxes. A number of times per day equal to his primary spellcasting modifier, he can either summon or banish another creature whom he has personally seen. If the creature is unwilling, it gets a will save (DC = 10 + Multiversal Shifter's level + his primary spellcasting modifier). Flux Control (Sp): At sixth level, the multiversal shifter can manipulate extremely small changes in the barriers between planes. He gains Dimensional Lock and Banishment as spell-like abilities usable once per day per shifter level. Greater Telepathy (Su): When the multiversal shifter reaches seventh level, his telepathy improves. The range increases to 1,000 feet, and within this range he can detect all creatures with an Intelligence score of at least 3. In addition, he can set up a telepathic link between two willing creatures, with a range of 100 feet. This link fades if the creatures move to a different plane than the planeshifter. Greater Shunting (Su): At ninth level, the multiversal shifter gains the ability to use his shunting ability between multiverses. This functions exactly like the lesser shunting ability, except that it moves between multiverses. Multiversal Perinarch (Sp): At tenth level, the multiversal shifter gains perfect control over the planes. He gains the ability to use Planar Perinarch a number of times per day equal to his primart spellcasting modifier. |
