New polymorph Master of Many Forms? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-13-07, 11:44 AM I think there's a problem that a higher (or lower) con score doesn't change your HP, but aside from that I haven't seen much. Mind you, I don't have a lot of experience with polymorphing so I can't say for sure.

I see your point, but I think they did the right thing by changing the rule. It was a massively unbalanced spell, plain and simple and every time they came out with a book with a monster in it, it got better and better. The wartroll was just the straw that broke the camel's back, my group banned it years earlier because our DM ran a campaign where everyone and their mother could polymorph or had an item that could.

His arguement was valid too, "Why not, its the best ability in the game, so why wouldn't they do that to try and kill you?" Given that he was right and it was the best thing you could do, it was unfair to everyone who couldn't.

Given the new rules, is this class just dead in the water?

03-13-07, 02:20 PM I can accept it for polymorph, but imo the MMF should have more options than the spell. Come one, you get 10 levels of medium BAB, no spellcasting and nearly no additional features except for polymorphing. IMO you deserve to have at least some very good polymorphing - a lot better for what anyone who hasn't given up their casting for it should get.
