Diblade
“Why use two weapons, you ask? Because I can swing two arms twice as many times as I can one, and therefore kill my enemies in half the time. I was never really any good with numbers, but I'm pretty sure that's a good thing...” - Garth, diblade
The world is flooded by warriors, who all learn how to swing a sword, lift a shield, and don ridiculously heavy armour. Amongst these mundane warriors, though, there are a small number of men and women who are far more gifted in the art of combat. And among this small number of gifted men and women there are a select few who have harnessed this gift and learnt to fight with two weapons with as if they were an extension of themself. They can land blows wielding a weapon in either hand with as much ease as the greatest of fighters can wield one. These few men and women are the diblades, and they are masters of combat.
Adaptation: Diblades are extremely rare yet extremely powerful, and may arise in a number of ways. Some diblades are chosen at a young age, due to their great gifts, to be trained as an apprentice under the wing of a diblade master.
Others, though fewer, have received no formal training and have instead honed their skills by experimenting with various two-weapon fighting techniques in very real combat experiences.

Class Features
Saves: The diblade can choose between Fortitude and Reflex for which save will take 'Good' save progression shown on the table above. The other save, along with Will, will take the 'Poor' save progression shown on the table above.

Weapon and Armour Proficiency: A diblade gains no proficiency with any weapons, armour, or shields.

Bonus Ability: At every three level the diblade can choose an ability from the following list. A double weapon counts as two weapons for the purposes of these abilities.

Clever Defense: A diblade with this ability who is unarmoured and unencombered can add their Intelligence modifier to their AC when they are wielding two weapons. This ability is nullified if the diblade wears armour, is encumbered, or is not wielding two weapons. This ability cannot be used in conjunction with intuitive defense, though a diblade can have both abilities in his repertoire. If he does have both abilities, he can select which ability he is using as a free action.

Diblade Defense: When wielding two weapons (not including natural weapons or unarmed strikes), the diblade receives a +2 bonus to Armour Class. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Flank Protection: On any round that the diblade focuses both of his weapons at two opponents who are flanking him, they do not receive bonuses for flanking. He must target the flankers with all of his attacks from a particular weapon in a given round, for example if he is being flanked by two goblins he must direct all of his available primary hand attacks at one of the goblins and all of his available off hand attacks at the other goblin, for this ability to take affect. He does not have to hit the flankers, only target them, to eliminate the +2 flanking bonus. This ability also negates a rogue's sneak attack ability, unless the rogue has four more class levels than the diblade has Base Attack Bonus. This effect lasts until the beginning of the diblade's next turn. Any other creatures that would normally receive flanking bonuses against the diblade still do, only the two targeted creatures do not. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Greater Two-Weapon Fighting: The diblade gains a third attack with his off hand weapon, albeit at a -10 penalty. A diblade must meet the prerequistites for the feat of the same name described on page 95 of the Player's Handbook. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Heavy Diblade: This ability allows the diblade to wear heavy armour and not lose his abilities. All diblade abilities with a descriptor that says ‘the diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour’ can now be used in conjunction with heavy armour. This ability does not grant the diblade proficiency with heavy armour.

Intuitive Defense: A diblade with this ability who is unarmoured and unencombered can add their Wisdom modifier to their AC when they are wielding two weapons. This ability is nullified if the diblade wears armour, is encumbered, or is not wielding two weapons. This ability cannot be used in conjunction with clever defense, though a diblade can have both abilities in his repertoire. If he does have both abilities, he can select which ability he is using as a free action.

Large Two-Weapon Fighting: When wielding a one-handed weapon in his off-hand, the diblade takes penalties for fighting with two weapons as if he were wielding a light weapon in his off hand. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Charge: A diblade who charges whilst wielding two weapons can attack with both weapons. If you do so, you lose the usual +2 bonus to attack rolls granted by charging. The -2 penalty to AC for charging still applies. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Cooperation: A diblade can apply the effects of certain feats from one weapon to the other weapon, as long as those affects can be applied legally. You can use this ability with the following feats; Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialisation, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialisation. For example, if the diblade were wielding a longsword and a short sword and he has the Weapon Focus (longsword) feat, he can apply the affects of Weapon Focus to the short sword as well. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Deflect Arrows: Once per round when a diblade wielding two weapons would normally be hit by a ranged weapon, you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. The diblade must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed. Deflecting a ranged weapon doesn’t count as an action. Unusually massive ranged weapons, such as boulders, and ranged attacks generated by spell effects, such as Melf’s Acid Arrow, cannot be deflected. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Disarm: A diblade who attempts to disarm an opponent whilst wielding two weapons gains a +4 bonus to his opposed attack roll. This bonus stacks with any other bonuses granted from feats such as Improved Disarm. Two-weapon disarm does not eliminate the attack of opportunity for attempting to disarm an opponent. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Lacerate: If you successfully hit an opponent with both of the weapons you wield, you deal extra damage equal to 1d6 + 1½ times your Strength modifier. This extra damage is treated as the same type that your off-hand weapon deals normally, for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction and other effects related to damage type. You can gain this extra damage once per round against a given opponent. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Opportunist: When making an attack of opportunity, a diblade may make an attack with his off hand against the same target at the same time. He must decide before his first attack roll whether he also wants to use his off hand. If so, apply modifiers for fighting with two weapons. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Riding: The diblade gains a +4 inherent bonus to checks made to guide a mount with his knees whilst wielding two weapons. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Two-Weapon Strike: A diblade can attack with both of his weapons in situations when most people could only attack with one, though he leaves himself more susceptible to counterattacks. The diblade can strike with both of his weapons as a standard action but suffers a -2 penalty to both of these attacks if he elects to do so. This ability does not allow the diblade to attack with both of his weapons in an attack of opportunity. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Ambidextrous: At 2nd level, the penalties for a diblade wielding two weapons are reduced by 1. That is, if his penalties are -4 they become -3, and if they are -2 they become -1.
At 4th level, the penalties for a diblade wielding two weapons are reduced by a further 1. That is, if his penalties were -3 they become -2, and if they were -1 they are completely removed.
The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Please give me any feedback you can, the more constructive criticism, the more constructive...:D

Love it!!! Some of those special abilities are sweet. I think it's pretty balanced, one bonus ability per level is good, yet I don't think overpowered. The abilities themselves aren't overpowered either. I don't know if TwoWeapon Riding is as good as most of the others though.

So without Heavy Armour, I can't wear any armor, but with it, I can go all the way to heavy.

Or is it heavy armor and no armor, but light and medium, forget about it.

No, you can wear light or medium armour without penalty but if you wear heavy armour then the abilities with the sentence "The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour." in their dexcriptor do not function. Unless you take the bonus ability 'Heavy Diblade' which then allows you to use the other abilities whilst in heavy armour, but of course you must use up one of your bonus abilities.

I think you're confused because the descriptor for 'Weapons and Armour Proficiencies' says "A diblade gains no proficiency with any weapons, armour, or shields." This means he gains no additional proficiencies, he still retains the ones granted by another class (ie: fighter).

Two-Weapon Focus: The diblade recieves a bonus to all attack rolls when wielding two weapons. Whenever a diblade has a weapon in each of his hands, he receives a +1 bonus to all attack rolls made with either weapon. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

Actually, this ability might be a bit overpowered, what do you reckon?

'Tardes a todos!
Nice! But a bit overpowered at my sight. I'll give some quoted sugestions, and I'll probably insert your work in PDF document with PrC that I should use in some future games, okay? :P

This class is just like Tempest, except for the Bonus Abilities. To turn it less overpowered, I suggest to give Bonus Abilities to every level (in your text, it is said that is would be received one for every three levels starting at second level) and Ambidexterity penalty reduction at 2nd and 4th levels.

The saves table should give either Fortitude or Reflex greater bonus, but not both. Unless you turn Hit Dice to a d8 dice, what would be considerable equilibrated to use both saves if high bonus.

I think this should have a note saying that this ability overlaps (or do not stack) with Weapon Focus. However, if the character have Greater Weapon Focus, she will receive +2 to both weapons, suposing he is using the choosen weapon to receive the bonus to attacks.

Two-Weapon Strike: A diblade can attack with both of his weapons in situations when most people could only attack with one, though he leaves himself more susceptible to counterattacks. The diblade can strike with both of his weapons as a standard action but takes a -2 penalty to both of these attacks, and suffers a -1 penalty to AC until the beginning of his next turn if he elects to do so. This ability does not allow the diblade to attack with both of his weapons in an attack of opportunity. The diblade loses this ability when fighting in heavy armour.

I do not understanded it. Please give a more detailed explanation.

Yep, got it.

and Ambidexterity penalty reduction at 2nd and 4th levels.

I agree. Do you think I should make it that you just get Reflex as your good save or should I make it that you get to choose between Reflex and Fortitude?

I think this should have a note saying that this ability overlaps (or do not stack) with Weapon Focus. However, if the character have Greater Weapon Focus, she will receive +2 to both weapons, suposing he is using the choosen weapon to receive the bonus to attacks.

Yeah, I think I might just scratch Two-Weapon Focus altogether, it's alittle bit overpowered and it might cause confusion and so on.

I do not understanded it. Please give a more detailed explanation.

So with Two-Weapon Strike, if you attack with only a standard action (ie: if you just moved into combat, if you just stood up from prone etc.) you are given the option of attacking with both weapons instead of just one. If you choose to attack with both weapons there are two penalties that you incur. First, you recieve a -2 penalty to both attack, but ONLY those two attacks (not every attack until the beginning of your next turn). Secondly, you recieve a -1 penalty to AC which lasts until the beginning of your next turn. If you strike with both weapons as a standard action, you are still able to use Two-Weapon Lacerate.

I was considering maybe removing the -1 penalty to AC, this being my rationalisation. With Two-Weapon Charge, the only penalty you recieve is that you do not gain the +2 bonus to your attack rolls for charging. So I figured to balance the two I would just say they get a -2 penalty to attack and NOT the -1 penalty to AC.

What are peoples thoughts on that?

PS: I'll edit those things now
