I'm finding the description of the Ordained Champions smite ability to be a bit unclear. It says you spend turn undead attempts to use it, and this suggests that you can smite as many times a day as you can turn undead. But it also says that it is identical to a paladin's smite, except as mentioned. Unfortunately, since it doesn't mention a number of times a day, it seems that it would be just like a paladin's smite in this respect (usable a few times a day).

Anyone know which it is? Has there been an official clarification about this?

You smite as often as you can turn undead. This is why you take extra turning in most of its builds. In fact, you take it two or three times and you can smite a butt load of times. I had a lvl 15 cleric 10/ Ordained Champion 3/ Ghoul 2 that could smite 18 times a day. Heck at 6th lvl with another character I was able o smite 12 times.

You smite as often as you can turn undead.

This is how I read it, but my DM disagrees. Is there anywhere that explicitly clears this up?

Orginally posted by Complete Champion
Smite (Su):At 2nd level, you can spend one daily use of your turn/rebuke undead ability as a swift action to turn your next melee attack into a smite.

As far as I am concerned that answers that. Hope your DM wises up.
