I'm trying to decide which prestige class to put my Paladin into I want to be a smiting combat god of battle! :fight!: So I have narrowed my choice down to Pious Templar (Complete Divine) or Fist of Raziel ( Book of Exalted Deeds). Has anyone played either of these? Any suggestions a to which one would be better?

Thanks

And as a side note im trying to pick the right race I was thinking either a ( i think i can post the stats if not i will take them down)
Draconic Earth Dwarf +4 str +4 con -2 dex +0 cha
Draconic Human + 2 str con cha
Goliath +4 str -2 dex +2 con (Powerful build)

All excellent racial choices for a Paladin.

Fist of Raziel is a very strong class, check with your DM first beforehand to make sure you can take it.

The FoR becomes even more ridiculous if you take level(s) in Cleric and advance your Cleric spellcasting instead of your Paladin spellcasting.

Pious Templar is fun, but is not quite the super-smiting fun that is the FoR. Especially if you take the "Charging Smite" variant Paladin in PHB2.

So I ended up with a Draconic Earth Dwarf Fighter 1/paladin 5/Fist of Raziel 4 and i must say that this is the smiting beast I was looking for!!

I call him Farthic CHAMPION OF THE STRONGHOLD !

I'm currently playing a low level dwarf paladin! I freakin' love dwarves...

From a power perspective, the Fist of Raziel is clearly superior. I personally would recommend this one; it is a very powerful prestige class, but it makes up for the paladin's lack of power at high levels. As I'm playing one with my current character, I can say that it's a fair bit of fun too. I can't wait until I get Chainsmite; the imagery gives me goosebumps. :)
