japoniano 06-20-07, 05:58 PM	Hi. I'm currently playing a level 9 halfling druid on 3rd edition rules. My character originally joined the campaign to help his native forest. It has an strategic value, and is of course, a source of lumber that might be harvested in a future war. So, as the story progressed his seeing, suffered and done things that he now views as wrongs, and comparing it to the reason of why he left his forest in the first place, he now sees that the problem with the world is the people (all intelligent races, not just humans), the demonic forces causing trouble, and all other un-natural stuff. So, now I want to make him an Corrupted Avenger. But the problem is that his mortal enemy would be anything un-natural, or anyone that does things against nature, which is very broad. So, what should I choose as mortal enemy? Is there another prestige class that covers this kind of character type? Thanks.
Endarrion 06-20-07, 06:00 PM	I posted a base class called "Steel-Leaf Paladin" on the classes forum that is a holy-warrior for nature sorta thing... That might help. Other than that, there's the Druidic Avenger variant in Unearthed Arcana that comes to mind.
cog_n_taz 06-20-07, 09:14 PM	As for what you pick, just choose the worst of em. Some ideas would be outsiders, undead or, better yet, aberrations. (ECS has feats and stuff for tearing up aberrations, too.)
Nobi 06-20-07, 10:57 PM	Ah, I'm having a similar problem with a character of mine. In a previous campaign I had a bard, who was wandering the Abyssal planes and was captured and tortured (supposedly to death) by a Demon Lord. Now we're playing a follow-up campaign, and I want to bring that Bard back into play, albeit scarred and possibly tainted. Despite this taint, however, I want him to still believe in his own good, and be as little aware of his condition as possible. Although the "Good" question may be be easy to remedy, since taint has many psychological affects, he could always rationalize his actions. Even so, Corrupted Avenger might be a tough class, because it's "Favored Enemy" and "Taint Strike" abilities would imply awareness of one's own taint. Besides that, who would this Bard's Favored Enemy be? The whole of Demonic entities?
japoniano 06-21-07, 01:50 PM	I don't mind the taint of my character; I actually look forward to it :D Right now, I'm thinking of defining his mortal enemies, as anyone who treathens nature; for example, he can be fighting a wizard without any special bonuses because the wizard hasn't done anything wrong, but if the wizard casts a spell that destroys part of the landscape, my character would recognize the wizard as a threat against nature, and proceed to gain the bonuses. He never gets the bonuses, unless he sees an enemy threatening nature.
