I've considered the arcane trickster or even the master thrower, both have their pluses, and minuses, but wondered if anyone has any other suggestions.

Unseen Seer (CMage) and Arcane Trickster are both really nice, and if you do it right you need only lose one sorcerer caster level to do it. You need to be human and have high int though;). iirc Daggerspell Shaper (or the other dagger spell class) is talked about from time to time, but I can't remember if it's good talk or bad talk. Master Thrower is not the PrC for you. No CL progression. And now someone has either ninja'd me or will come along with another PrC.

Going to second the Unseen Seer. It's a great hybrid class for sneaky casters who want to maximize their casting ability.

It may be a little late now but depending on the spells you use a Beguiler is something I'd consider instead of a Rogue/Sorcerer.

Unseen Seer is actually possible without the loss of ANY casting levels although it takes a while to get the eight ranks in three non-sorcerer skills. After four levels of US then Arcane Trickster also opens up. The awesome Rogue1/Sorcerer4/UnseenSeer1/AT build suffers SEVERE problems in filling out the skill requirements thus the Human with high INT (18 if I recall) requirement.

One class that may not be so Rogue is the Dragon Slayer from the Draconomicon. Skill and feat requirements that may not be a huge stretch for a +1 BAB, +1 spellcasting, d12 HD, armor and weapon proficiency, plus fearless all for a one level dip.

Spellwarp sniper from Complete Scoundrel is good too.

Daggerspell mage isn't bad, either, but it's usually considered a notch lower from Unseen Seer. Still, I'd say it's not bad and can be quite handy if you like it's namesake weapon. It has much lower skill reqs than the unseen seer, but it requires a 1d6 sneak attack that will probably come from a rogue level (thus a level with no casting) and loses another caster level in its course.

Alot of great suggestions, but i went with one of my original choices, the arcane trickster, and created a surprisingly nasty little Halfling for the campaign I'm in, hopefully he'll live up to his potential, its a hi level game and the GM is fond of throwing lots of monsters at us.

Thanks,
Briar
