He couldn't remember where it said that, but when I pointed out the large number of PrC's that say "Paladins can level as this class and still advance as a Paladin" or 'Monks can take levels of this class and still advance as a Monk', he would brush it off as just typos in the books. I'd be more inclined to think of what he named as a variant rule, or is the typo itself. Anyone on here know what he's talking about? |

Unlike the basic classes, characters must meet Requirements before they can take their first level of a prestige class. The rules for level advancement apply to this system, meaning the first step of advancement is always choosing a class. If a character does not meet the Requirements for a prestige class before that first step, that character cannot take the first level of that prestige class. Taking a prestige class does not incur the experience point penalties normally associated with multiclassing. Heres the link: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/prestigeClasses.htm So no PrCs DO NOT incur XP penalties or Racial Paragon classes for that matter. To answer why it says Monk or Paladin is because a monk or paladin can not continue to take monk or paladin levels if they take a level of something else. Respect Nathan P.S. I love it when a easy one is floated up for me.:D |
