Prestige class exp penalty? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have a quick and most probably stupid question for you guys...

does a character taking a level in a prestige class suffer from exp penalty like normal multi-classing? If so, that would kind of suck, most prestige classes you can'T hit until you have a very hih level, or a complexe mix of vastly different leveled classes, which can really be a pain on the exp wallet.

They forgot to print the line in the DMG, but just as in 3.0, PrCs don't count for multiclassing penalties.

You're right. But more importantly, it's in the errata. PrC's don't count.

I believe the documentation, if you need it, can be found in the FAQ, not the errata.
In addition, the SRD includes this rule.

Okay, so there IS this rule written somewhere official then.

Alright, good. I was worried that it wasn't officially written anywhere and that my DM would think it never existed or something:embarrass
