Prestige class for a Cleric of Lolth? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-18-07, 01:16 PM I need some good PrC's for a CE Cleric of Lolth. Full spellcasting if you can. I already checked out the one in Faiths and Pantheons and that just didnt fit the bill.

You guys got any other ideas?

05-20-07, 06:22 AM To be honest, I don't know of one, but you could make your own.

Possible prerequisities:

ability to cast divine spells of at least 3rd or 4th level
Lolth as patron
access to a certain domain (if the prestige class is focused on one aspect of Lloth, such as maintaining drow society or spider worship or chaotic destruction)
race: drow
gender: female
Certain number of ranks in Knowledge (religion), Intimidate, Spellcraft, or some other skill
Alignment: chaotic evil

I wouldn't use all of those; pick three to five that best communicate the level characters should be before gaining levels in the class (which should be a minimum of five) and display the characteristics an ideal Lloth cleric should have. Keep in mind that if you don't specify a domain, druids and even rangers may be able to qualify for the prestige class as well.

Possible class benefits:

At each level gained, go up another level in divine spellcasting ability (but don't gain any other benefits from that class)
access to one new domain chosen from Lloth's list
ability to gain charisma or wisdom bonus to attack or damage once per day in an unholy strike
+2 profane or morale bonus to Intimidate against those with Lloth as their patron (aka, can bully other drow better, since have the backing of Lloth)
gain certain spider-like traits, such as ability to climb web spells, bite attack from fangs, immunity to natural venoms, or improved (+30 ft) darkvision

I hope some of these ideas help you if you decide to create your own prestige class. Good luck, and post if you need more ideas or help.

05-20-07, 08:25 AM No such thing as a Drow ranger of Lolth, they all went and turned good with two scimitars. . .

05-20-07, 10:38 AM Ha. Actually, Drizzt annoys me; he's so overused and Mielikki sucks. But seriously, I use evil drow rangers in my own campaign, and some of them would qualify for such a prestige class if the domain restriction wasn't in place, once they reached a high enough level.

05-20-07, 11:50 PM The Dread Fang of Lolth got a makeover in Drow of the Underdark, and yes, it is roguish with no spellcasting progression.

There is another PrC in the same book called the Eye of Lolth and it is for sneaky female divine spellcasters who worship Lolth (1/2 spell progression, sneak attack, blindsense, aura of truth, ally benefits, and invisibility at will).

IMHO, I think you should either go str8 Cleric 20 or Clr 15/ Divine Disciple 5. The Contemplative is also a good choice (immunity to disease and poisons and extra domains are always great, especially when dealing with other drow).

Well, if the good old Arachne doesn't fit, I would suggest something generic like the Divine Disciple, Divine Oracle or Thaumaturge (a cleric that specializes in calling forth Lloth's minions). The Contemplative doesn't seem very drow-oriented to me, otherwise it can work well. The Darkmask(?) PrC for Vhaeraun worshippers from Lords of Darkness could be adapted a little to fit a sneakier drow priestess, as can the Divine Trickster over at Giantitp.com. An alignment-independent version of the Shadowbane Stalker could also work, I guess.
