Problem about the Swiftblade PrC [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-24-08, 12:06 AM I like all the abilities granted by the swiftblade PrC, but I'm kind of conflicted between the extra attack granted by the haste spell and the fact that the class grants spring attack and bounding assault and extra damage from moving. I can't decide which way would be best to utilize the potential of this class. Or am I just being dumb and I should overlook the extra attack?

Also, would be better to be a skirmisher or a TWFer, to enter this prestige class, or should I be a completely different starting class?

02-24-08, 09:12 PM Perpetual options - don't even bother considering any other option.

Go sorc6/swiftblade10 with practiced spellcaster, polymorph into a 12-headed hydra, and laugh as you make move+24 attacks/round. If you are willing to spend a feat on martial study to nab flame blade (that ToB maneuver which lets you augment your attacks with fire damage), things just get ugly, with all your attacks each dealing extra fire damage.

Save spring attack for foes whom you do not want full attacking you. Though in that case, you could just hang back and support with battlefield control spells.

Or something more complex, like
Wizard1/Fighter6/Abjurant Champion5

The benefits in general are pretty obvious for anyone, the how’s, why’s, and when’s determine ‘how’ you put it to use.
