Question About Radiant Servant of Pelor Class Feature: [Archive] - Wizards Community

The Complete Divine (in p. 52) states that a radiant servant can perform "extra greater turning" (the granted power of the sun domain) a number of times per day equal to 3+CHA mod.

Here's my question about this feature: does it REPLACE the "turn undead" cleric class feature with "extra greater turning" (as well as the extra turning feat associated with it), or is this IN ADDITION TO regular "turn undead" attempts?

In my opinion, the former seems far more likely, if we do not want to give a cleric an ungodly amount of turning attempts to spend on other things. However, I will be more than happy to accept rules as written if the latter interpretation is the correct one, given that I'm playing a radiant servant right now. >;-]

Thanks for any info provided.

I that it means when you turn then you get the benefit of greater tunring but when taking lvl in RSPelor you also get extra greater turning atempts...as in the extra tunring feat...

Your latter interpretation is correct.

Your latter interpretation is correct.

If we're to assume this interpretation, could these additional "extra greater turning" attempts also be applied to feats which require the expenditure of turning attempts to bring about abilities/benefits (i.e. sacred warding/vitality/boost, divine metamagic, etc)?

A loose interpretation would suggest that since these "extra greater turning" attempts are still "turning" attempts, they can be applied to divine feats which expend them. On the other hand, a strict interpretation might rule that only explicit "turn undead" attempts can be used in such a manner. Which is correct?

Well, they aren't "turn undead attempts", they are "greater tunring attempts". But I use the more favorable one (the one that lets you use them for divine feats and the positive energy burst).
