| Master_Verhoffin12-17-07, 01:06 AM | I was looking at the Order of the Bow Initiate (Complete Warrior) for an archer build and stumbled across 2 questions about their Ranged Precision ability: 1. Could you use Manyshot with Ranged Precision? I'm inclined to say yes, considering they both require a standard action to use and the class requires Rapid Shot (which is otherwise useless to an OoBI). 2. Would the extra damage from Ranged Precision stack with the extra damage from a scout's Skirmish ability? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't stack and, given that both classes require you to not take full attacks to gain the extra damage, it seems natural they would. I'm asking because the OoBI seems completely inferior to an archery ranger or scout with Greater Manyshot otherwise. Thanks in advance. |

If you decide, for whatever reason, that they SHOULD be able to, and decide to house-rule that they in fact do, then the precision damage would apply only to one of the arrows (the 'first', though that has little meaning for an attack that fires simultaneous arrows). A Scout's Skirmish damage applies whenever the situation allows for it, and Ranged Precision damage applies whenever the appropriate action is taken. In more clear language, they work perfectly fine together. |

Manyshot and Ranged Precision are two completely separate things that have nothing to do with one another, you cannot combine them. Yes, skirmish will work with Ranged Precision. Skirmish is similar to sneak attack in that it will apply to ANY attack that meets the prerequisites for it. In this case, moving 10'. |
