Recaster - Best spells for Expanded Knowledge [Archive] - Wizards Community

I am playing a CN recaster and at the moment I am planning to optimise this for brute power.

I need to select a spell for level 5 for the Expanded Knowledge and another at level 7 or 8

I am thinking of the following:

Level 5 - Hallow or True Seeing

Level 7 - Holy Word or Blasphemy or the Neutral equivalent (AFB)

I am even thinking of taking level 4 ranger version of the freedom of movement

Any suggestions on what YOU would take? Many thanks on your suggestions!

ps: No Faerun books, web enhancements, Libris Mortis, BOED or BOVD and UA.

10-26-07, 08:50 AM I would suggest looking at the hybrid casting class' Ranger, Paladin, etc) 4th lvl spell lists. Many of these spells are far more powerful than a standard caster's 4th lvl spell. If you're looking for min / max, then steal from the good ones.

Though on the other hand, you could also steal from the Wu Jen spell list in Complete Arcane. All of which would be a real surprise for the opposition.

But as to specific spells, I'm honestly not quite sure since I have no idea of your build, your party's build, the campaign theme, and the usual opposition style.
