Try these variants:

Rouge/Monk is good. Monk/Scout and Monk/Ninja are decent as well. Try "gestalting" them (Unearthed Arcana).

There's a feat in complete adventurer that lets you multiclass Monk & rogue. Ascetic Rogue. You stack Monk & rogue levels for unarmed damage & lets you multiclass the 2 & get a bonus on stunning fist when you sneak attack with it.

Monk & Ninja there's a feat in complete scoundrel that lets you multiclass the 2. Ascetic Stalker. Stack Ki Pool & unarmed damage.

So they can help work towards any prestige class. Hope that helps.

Well, this doesn't do exactly what you are wanting, but consider looking at the Ascetic Rogue feat from CAd. It allows monk and rogue levels to stack for purposes of determining unarmed strike damage, and when you deal SA damage in conjunction with Stunning Fist, it add +2 to the SV DC.

You can then also freely multi-class between the two.

no hes looking for a monk that wears rouge, not a multiclass... hmm maybe a monk with ranks in disguise? although maybe that would be perfom ( hermaphrodite)?

one problem: monks have to be lawful. and i have never heard of a lawful rogue.

Why not? There are no alignment restrictions on the rogue class. You probably have never seen one since everyone considers rogues thieves. That is the wonderful thing about them, they are so much more than that.

Complete Adventurer and Complete Scoundrel are two good resources for those combo Monk/ Rogues. That and Able learner can help if looking for a skill-monkey-esque Monk with a dip into rogue.

In addition to the ascetic feat multiclass suggestions (monk/ninja, monk/rogue) above, if you don't mind a bit of evil, the Monk of the Long Death from Players Guide to Faerun. It grants an increase in some monk abilities and a sneak attack bonus... I think. :thinks:

Dwarven 'trapfinder' = Dwarven rogue that specializes in preventative security (and killing kobolds).

One time I played a monk who had once been an onnagata (a kabuki actor -keep in mind that all kabuki actors are male- who specialized in female roles). He still wore rouge.

He also preferred speaking in double entendres. I wouldn't necessarily call him my favorite character, but he was certainly the most fun.

also if u look at what makes someone lawful if u state a code of conduct and never break it no mater what u do your still lawful

I agree... up to a point. Some choices of a personal code could still result in a somewhat chaotic character...

But yes, there could be plenty of uses and possiblities for a lawful rogue. Most of them would work around becoming what you fight... Law enforcement that specializes in take-down techniques (flanking sneak attack), Security (trapfinding, search, craft-traps, disable device), Government spy or Diplomat (social skills), and Body guard (Sense motive, listen, spot, evasion). This is off the top of my head, and all these concepts could use a lawful rogue.

plus the two good prestige classes from Complete Adventurer, Shadowbane Inquisitor (Rogue/Paladin) and Shadowbane Stalker (Rogue/Cleric) are very good uses of the Lawful Good Rogue idea.

I liked the example nightsong enforcer given in CAdv. With a monk's belt and superior US, you can take quite a few levels without your unarmed damage suffering. However, if you want the typical monk PrC (boosting everything) with sneak attack, I don't know if there's anything better than the Long Death monks. Mind you, they're kinda evil.
