Sacred Fist (CD) and Monk stack? [Archive] - Wizards Community

At first level, the Monk gains (from SRD)
AC Bonus (Ex): When unarmored and unencumbered, the monk adds her Wisdom bonus (if any) to her AC. In addition, a monk gains a +1 bonus to AC at 5th level. This bonus increases by 1 for every five monk levels thereafter (+2 at 10th, +3 at 15th, and +4 at 20th level).

These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks or when the monk is flat-footed. She loses these bonuses when she is immobilized or helpless, when she wears any armor, when she carries a shield, or when she carries a medium or heavy load.

The first level of Sacred Fist gives the same thing. Because these are the same ability they do not stack, correct?

I really want a good way to combine Monk with Cleric. Rather, some type of Cleric/Monk, I don't care what the base class is. Sacred Fist was appealing for the 8/10 caster progression and full BAB.

So, any suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance!

12-07-07, 08:57 PM Well... If you have Tome of Battle, you can do this:

Ex-Cleric 1 of Wee Jas/Unarmed Swordsage 4/Ur-Priest 2/Ruby Knight Vindicator 10/Swordsage +3

Gives Initiator level 18 at level 20, and 9th level cleric spells without domains at 15th. Base Attack is 16. Of course, it requires that you have an evil alignment (or have a DM that doesn't care about alignment prereqs), and forces you into 4 feats (Martial Study: Devoted Spirit Maneuver, Martial Stance: Devoted Spirit Stance, Iron Will, and Spell Focus: Evil).

Or you could just do a Cleric gish (I don't know any good builds, actually) and take Superior Unarmed Strike (Tome of Battle)

12-07-07, 09:29 PM As a cleric, you don't care what your BAB is (melee cleric and such). Divine power is one of your favorite spells. What I would suggest is monk/cleric/Enlightened Fist (with the divine casting option found in the last paragrraph). Concentrate on cleric spell casting, pick up Superior Unarmed Strike and grab a monk's belt. Also, take Contemplative or Divine Oracle afterwards for more spellcasting. Your BAB? 20. Thanks to divine power.

Another option (depending on what exactly you're trying to accomplish) would be the cleric gish and take SUS.

And you are correct in that they do not stack RAW.
