| Orryn07-09-07, 03:30 PM | Is there a PrC with an ability to save on a natural 1 - if with the modifiers added is high enough? |
| Einvaldurinn_mikli07-09-07, 03:43 PM | Steadfast determination works for Fort saves. That's a feat though. |
| Krusk07-09-07, 06:27 PM | Knight level 19 does this for all saves. Unfortunatly it is a base class, and you need to spend 19 levels in knight, so it might not fit your concept very well. |
| unusualsuspect07-09-07, 07:04 PM | Kensai effectively does this for Reflex saves at, what was it, 5th level? It replaces the reflex save with a concentration check, and skill checks aren't automatic failures (unless your DMs, like mine, houserule otherwise). |
| navar10007-10-07, 01:41 AM | There are three Iron Heart maneuvers from Tome of Battle that allow you to make Concentration checks for your saving throw, one for each type of save, and a 1 is not an automatic failure. |

Then to answer the OP's question, all you have to do is take levels in a ToB PrC that gives you new maneuvers per level (or one maneuver per two levels, however the case may be) and allows them to be from the Iron Heart Discipline. Of course, then in that case you don't even need the PrCs at all. Just take Martial Study (or whichever it's called) for the maneuvers in question. |

| Orryn07-14-07, 11:08 AM | thanks for the information I am working on a VoP monk / paladin (with serenity) / pious templar / and shou disciple. The saves are very high and with evasion and mettle, I do not want him to fail a save on a "1" |
| dman1123507-14-07, 11:38 AM | You could do the variant for nat. 1 count as -10, 20 counts as 30 (even if it is the epic variant, I do it after level 15), or you could do the manuver one. I have a question though, are you taking vow of peace as well? Cause otherwise you might be better off with items. Also, that is a very nice build for exhalted. I like it! Where is the serenity from? EDIT: I remembered what the serenity is. |
| DavidWL07-16-07, 03:54 AM | Is there a PrC with an ability to save on a natural 1 - if with the modifiers added is high enough? The pride domain does it. For any save, all day long. Best, David |
| Nykidemus07-16-07, 04:20 AM | Where is the pride domain located? |
| SokenzanMarauder07-16-07, 11:51 AM | Where is the pride domain located? Spell Compendium. Though it doesn't negate a rolled one. You just get to reroll it and keep the next result, which could be another one (in which case: Sucks to be you). -Gene |
| Orryn07-16-07, 09:30 PM | dman11235, thanks. I have not looked at the Vow of Peace. I like the character concept of handing out butt whuppings. The Vow of Peace, in my mind, seems more reactive, defensive. Again, in my mind, the character would not seek out evil to destroy, to actively go on an adventure to kill the BBEG. I just looked it over, very quick. I do not think I could pull it off with the other player characters. My character is the lone lawful good of the group. The others are chaotic good and one chaotic neatral warlock. |
