I'm currently playing a Half-elf Beguiler that takes every oppertunity to lie, cheat, and steal from any humans and elves he comes across (he dispises them and belives that 'owe' him for treating him as a second class citizen while growing up on the streets). Luckily my party is made up of half-elves and half-orcs. I'm at level 4 now but am already working on the 6th level mindbender dip.

My question is, would a 1-level dip into Scar Enforcer for the skill bonuses and character flavor be worth the caster level loss? And what would be the optimal level to make this dip if I were to do it?

Also, since the Beguiler isn't a damage dealer; would it be too overpowering to ask the DM if I can change the +2 damage vs humans/elves to a +1 caster level or +1 DC to the spells I cast on humans/elves? And would it be worth the caster level loss if the DM approved this if the answer to the first question was "no"?

A third but somewhat unrelated question. If a Half-elf Scar Enforcer with levels in Ranger had the favored enemy human/elf already, would the Scar Enforcer favored enemy ability stack with the bonuses as if he had gained another 5 levels in Ranger for both the humans and elves; or would the ability just overlap?

For the flavour, maybe, but it's a more martial class than a caster class. I'm tempted to say that the increase in caster level is for ranger spellcasting.

Also, since the Beguiler isn't a damage dealer; would it be too overpowering to ask the DM if I can change the +2 damage vs humans/elves to a +1 caster level or +1 DC to the spells I cast on humans/elves? No, it still wouldn't be worth it if you lost a caster level just to gain it back against a certain group. That's just silly.

It stacks, as the favoured enemy ability states that each time you gain the favoured enemy, it stacks. Besides which, this prestige class is perfect for rangers.

I would agree that it'd be perfect for rangers except for the required 8 ranks in Bluff which is not a ranger skill. I would say that it's more of a rogue combo class then a straight ranger class because of the 3/4 BAB progression and SA progression. I would guess a rogue/bard, rogue/ranger, rogue/cleric, or rogue/sorcerer in that order would be the best combos. Actually, the Spellthief would probably be the ideal class or mixed with the assassin prc.

That would be a scary combo of a Rogue 5/ Assassin 5/ Scar Enforcer 10 that can smite their favored enemy during a sneak attack.
