Need a second PrC to stack on my Rng/Ashworm Dragoon.

the unfortunate thing I've noticed is that most mounted PrCs don't stack well, and are often largely redundant. I know Cavalier is pretty much the be all end all but it just doesn't fit the character (Talentan Halfling)

Wild Plains Outrider - Comp Adventurer. It stacks with animal companion and special mount, you'll have to ask your dm if it stacks with ashworm mount, it does in my campaign.
Halfling Outrider - Comp Warrior (if you're a halfling).
Cavalier - Comp War. Only stacks with special mount, but I might allow it in my campaign...

Otherwise, continue with Ranger...

Two levels of Wild Plains outrider seems like a good choice, but the other two options are frankly lacking. Halfling Outrider is entirely focused on mounted archery (which I wasn't planning on pursuing) and Cavalier is way too Lance focused and completely against the theme of the character (tribal ashworm rider)

I was hoping against hope there'd be something I wasn't aware of yet that would work, but no such luck so far.

Thanks for the suggestions th o

A version of the Shaaryan hunter (PGtF) could work... it's still somewhat archery-based, but there are some bonuses that can still help. If not, go with the base classes, or put in a level or two of fighter for the feats.

Maybe skylord? (exalted deeds) or one of the similar flying creature mount prestigue clases? What else do you want for this character? It's not very specific.

Well again, Ashworm Dragoon focuses primarily around riding the Ashworm and gives a lot of bonuses to mounted combat moves while on your ashworm (super trample, extra damage on mounted charges, all while improving the stats of your ashworm)

Essentially I've got a Talentan Halfling Ranger, who I'll be taking a few levels of Fighter on. He's going to ride his Clawfoot till level 6 at which point he'll PrC into Ashworm Dragoon and and ride his Ashworm for most of the rest of his career. I'm not planning on using a Lance in favor of the Talentan Sharrash, which is something like a scythe with lower damage but a higher threat range.

Feat selection will probably be the standard mounted combat choices: Mounted Combat, Rideby Attack, Spirited Charge, Trample, Weapon Focus (Sharrash), Improved Crit (Sharrash), ect.
