Requirements: Character level 5 or more, multiclass in at least 2 non-prestige classes. Base attack bonus: Low. Base save bonuses: All low. Level 1: You gain a bonus feat, which can be any feat you meet the prerequisites. Skill points are (2+Int modifier), and no skills are class skills. Hit dice is d4. Level 2 to infinity: At each level, select 2 non-prestige classes that you have at least 1 level in. Gain class features as if you have gained a level in each of those classes you selected, except for base attack bonus, base save bonus, skills, hit dice. Class skills are all skills that are a class skill in either class, skill points are the average of the 2 classes (round up). Base save bonus are +1 for every 4 levels in a class with a high base save bonus. Base attack bonus are +1 for every 4 levels in a class with high base attack bonus, +1 for every 8 levels in a class with medium base attack bonus. Hit points are calculated by rolling the dice of the higher hit-dice class but any number higher than the maximum for the lower hit-dice class is changed to one more than the maximum for the lower hit-dice class. Note: I have calculated the averages and standard deviations of hit-points using excel (assuming Con modifier +0): Fighter 1/Wizard 1: a=8.000 s=3.121 Wizard 1: a=2.500 s=1.291 Fighter 1: a=5.500 s=3.028 Semigestalter (Fighter/Wizard) 1: a=4.000 s=1.491 (this last one is just hypothetical because you cannot really get fighter/wizard hit-points at this level) |

This way at least its ... prefaced by something. You have the base classes to start with .. and then your off! Using this with gestalt base classes is probably redundant ... so I assume this is intended to replace base class gestalting. As such it would be slightly overpowered. You could mitigate that by putting some an additional requisites. Maybe some minor feats like all three save boosters or something. Maybe make the "blank + feat" level recur every 3 levels? Actually I like that. I think increasing the reqs and making it a 3 stage (1st feat level, 2nd gestalt level, 3rd gestalt level, 4th feat level, 5th gestalt level, etc). Still powerfull but it would be more balanced in a game where you are prohibiting base class gestalt classing. Allow me to encourage you to not use base class gestalting. I honestly didn't care for 2nd ed AD&D, and thats what gestalts are trying to recapture. Did ya ever play 2nd ed zzo? Oh and since this is the last thing on your list ..... I will be wondering off now. If you would like further clarification you will have to PM me. Its not that I don't care, its that I am honestly that easily distracted. Nice stuff. Hope hear some more from you. |
