| crimsonwolf02-25-07, 08:21 PM | Ill say this is not a fully orginal idea yet I have complied it from sources and My own hope to bring about a more wanted use of the crossbow. Hit Die:d6 Class Skills: as Rogue Skill points: 4+int / lvl Saves: Rouge Requirements To become a Shadow Bolt , a character must fulfill all of the following criteria: Skills: Hide, 8 Ranks, Move silently, 8 Ranks Feats: Point Blank shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Reload Special: Sneak attack damage +2d6 1st +0 +0 +2 +0 Sneak attack +1d6 Enhance Bolt +1 2nd +1 +0 +3 +0 Sniping +2 Sneak Range 50ft 3rd +2 +1 +3 +1 Bolts of Shadows, Sneak Attack +2d6 Enhance Bolt +2 4th +3 +1 +4 +1 Seeking Bolt, Sniping +4 5th +3 +1 +4 +1 Ranged Death Attack, Sneak Attack +3d6 Sneak Range 70ft 6th +4 +2 +5 +2 Sniping +6, Improved Critical (hand light or heavy) Enhance Bolt +3 7th +5 +2 +5 +2 Sneak attack +4d6 8th +6 +2 +6 +2 Phasing Bolt, Sniping +8 sneak range 90ft 9th +6 +3 +6 +3 Sneak attack +5d6 Enhance Bolt +4 10th +7 +3 +7 +3 Sniping +10 Slaying Bolt Sneak Range 110 Sneak Attack: As rogue's Sneak Range(Ex): Increase in 20ft multipliers 2nd 5th 8th 10th each time stacking. althou the effective range of a crossbow is not increase addons or other magiacal or efforts throu feats are to be made to allow such things without penltys. Sniping (Ex): The Shadow Bolt is used to step out of the shadows, shoot at a target precisely and then to re-conceal himself before he can be identified. The Shadow Bolt gets a bonus equal to the number behind to hide checks made while taking the "Sniping" action. Enhance Bolt (Su): At 1st level, every nonmagical Bolt an Shadow Bolt uses and lets fly becomes magical, gaining a +1 enhancement bonus. Unlike magic weapons created by normal means, the user need not spend experience points or gold pieces to accomplish this task. However, an user magic Bolt s only function for her. For every two levels the character advances past 1st level in the prestige class, the magic Bolt she creates gain +1 greater potency (+1 at 1st level, +2 at 3rd level, +3 at 6th level, +4 at 9h level). Bolt of Shadows (Sp): As the Shadow Bolt is able to form shadows, he can create an Bolt made of pure shadow, which is invisible for everyone except him, so the attack is inevadable. The Shadow Bolt forms such an Bolt as a free action. The Bolt is dealt like a sneak attack, even if a sneak attack wouldn't be possible. However, creatures being immune to sneak attacks (such as constructs) are also immune to the special forces of an Bolt of Shadows, nevertheless they are considered flat-footed. Against them it's treated like a normal Bolt. The Bolt of Shadows has to be used within the next round, otherwise the Bolt dilutes. The Shadow Bolt can use his own shadow to form one, once per day for each 3 levels of Shadow Bolt he possesses (so 1 on lvl 3, 2 on lvl 6 and 3 on lvl 9) Shadow's Bolt (Sp): Due to the familiarity with the shadow, the Shadow Bolt can launch an bolt to a known target within range and the shadows lead the bolt to its aim. The Shadow Bolt once per day can launch such an bolt to a known target within range, as a standard action (shooting the Bolt is part of the action). This attack negates cover or concealment modifiers, though the attack roll is rolled normally. The Shadow Bolt can use the seeking Bolt once per day for each 4 levels of Shadow Bolt he possesses (1 on lvl 4, 2 on lvl 8) Ranged Death Attack (Ex): Continuing his career as Sniper, the Shadow Bolt knows the body well enough that he can fire an Bolt to the deadliest spots. The Shadow Bolt has to observe his victim for 3 rounds before the attack. While studying the victim, the Shadow Bolt can undertake other actions so long as his attention stays focused on the target and the target does not detect the Shadow Bolt or recognize the Shadow Bolt as an enemy. If the victim of such an attack fails a Fortitude save (DC 10 + the Shadow Bolt class level + Dex modifier) against the kill effect, she dies. If the saving throw fails against the paralysis effect, the victim is rendered helpless and unable to act for 1d6 rounds plus 1 round per level of the Shadow Bolt . If the victim’s saving throw succeeds, the attack is just a normal sneak attack. Once the Shadow Bolt has completed the 3 rounds of study, he must make the death attack within the next 3 rounds. If a death attack is attempted and fails (the victim makes her save) or if the assassin does not launch the attack within 3 rounds of completing the study, 3 new rounds of study are required before he can attempt another death attack. Improved Critical (Ex): The Shadow Bolt has come to a point at which his abilities using a bow have increased to such a level, that he can fire Bolt with a deadly precision. The threat range for Crossbow (Heavy, light or Hand)is increased by +1 . This ability does not stack with the Feat "Improved Critical". Phasing Bolt (Sp): The Shadow Bolt now can form an Bolt out of the shadows, which is hardly consistent, though deadly. This Bolt will pass every kind of material barrier. The Shadow Bolt can launch a Phasing Bolt as a standard action (shooting the Bolt inclusive) once per day. The Bolt will pass every non-magical barrier, thus negating bonuses from cover, concealment and even from armors and shields. A normal attack roll is necessary. For each 5 levels of Shadow Bolt he can create one phasing Bolt per day (so 1 on lvl 8 and 2 on lvl 10) Bolt of Death (Sp): At 10th level, an Shadow Bolt can create an Bolt of death that forces the target, if damaged by the Bolt’s attack, to make a DC 20 Fortitude save or be slain immediately. It takes one day to make an arrow of death, and the arrow only functions for the Shadow Bolt who created it. The Bolt of death lasts no longer than one year, and the user can only have one such arrow in existence at a time. |
