The classic RPG "The Story of Thor", also known as "Beyond Oasis", tells about the legendary powers of the Gold Armlet and the Silver Armlet.
These two artifacts of great power epitomized good and evil, light and darkness.

The Silver Armlet had the power to summon entire legions of monsters from the "shadowlands" which sounded a lot like the Shadow Plane to me, and playing the game, not only this was confirmed, but all the magical powers of the Silver Armlet resembled Shadow Magic mysteries (see Tome of Magic) very much. And all of this screamed for a D&D conversion in my opinion!

But centering a class, even a prestige class upon an artifact would be very setting-specific and very limiting for a character, so I had the idea to forget about the material nature of the artifact and make it a soulmeld (see Magic of Incarnum). This way, the Silver Armlet could be easily introduced to any campaign as a long-forgotten artifact that now exists as a "conglomerate" of the soul energies of all its past masters. A form of pure evil magical energy.

PREVIEW

So mechanically, the Silver Armlet soulmeld gives its master the ability to learn a secret path of Initiate mysteries tied to the Incarnum energy of the armlet. The path will look a lot like Dark Reflections (see Tome of Magic, page 140), but instead of emulating Shadow Evocations, it will emulate Shadow Conjurations.
Investing Essentia into the Silver Armlet will make these conjurations (that are illusions after all) 100% real and very durable, since the armlet has the power to control these creatures.
So the class will have more or less this design:

Level BAB T R W Special Essentia Mysteries
1st +0 +2 +2 +2 Silver Armlet 1 -
2nd +1 +3 +3 +3 * 2 1
3rd +1 +3 +3 +3 * 3 2
4th +2 +4 +4 +4 * 4 3
5th +2 +4 +4 +4 * 5 4

With many more special features, and the new Shadow Magic Initiate path that will be specifically enhanced by the class features and by the Silver Armlet's powers.
The goal is to make something similar to the Malconvoker from Complete Scoundrel but themed around Shadow Conjuration instead of being themed around Summon Monster.

The hardest part will be deciding the requirements.

I'm leaving you with these few bits and I'll complete the work soon.

Feedback is already welcome! :)
