Grimoire Keeper: An arcanamagus has learned the art of keeping a spellbook, just like a wizard. He can prepare a number of spells from his spellbook each day equal to 1/2 his class level + his Int modifier [minimum 1]. He must have an Int score equal to at least 10 + the spell’s level to prepare the spell. The save DC for these additional spells is Intelligence-based. Arcanamagi do not automatically learn new spells for free at level advancement; they must scribe spells into their spellbooks manually and pay the gp cost for each one. An arcanamagi can prepare any wizard spell in his spellbook (even ones not on his class list such as Mordenkainen’s lucubration or Rary’s mnemonic enhancer), and it is treated as if he had prepared it (via the Arcane Preparation feat) from his normal list of spells known.

Arcane Savant: When an arcanamagus casts a spell from his list of spells known that was prepared via Arcane Preparation, he adds his Intelligence modifier [if positive] to the save DC [in addition to his Charisma bonus and any other relevant modifiers]. Only spells he can cast spontaneously receive this benefit; spells from his spellbook that are not on his list of spells known do not receive the bonus.

Swap Spell: At every even-numbered level, an arcanamagus may select any spell he knows to designate as an exchangeable spell. An arcanamagus may exchange a spell prepared via the Arcane Preparation feat for an exchangeable spell of equal or lower level. This ability otherwise functions like a good cleric’s ability to spontaneously cast cure spells.

Bonus Feats: At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level, an arcanamagus gains one bonus feat from the list below for which he meets all the prerequisites: Accelerate Metamagic, Arcane Defense, Arcane Thesis, Augment Summoning, Dampen Spell, Elven Spell Lore, Eschew Materials, Extra Slot, Extra Spell, Extraordinary Concentration, Extraordinary Spell Aim, Greater Spell Focus, Greater Spell Penetration, Improved Counterspell, Magical Aptitude, Metamagic School Focus, Metamagic Spell Trigger, Metamagic Vigor, Mobile Spellcasting, Nonverbal Spell, Obtain Familiar, Practical Metamagic, Rapid Metamagic, Residual Magic, Somatic Weaponry, Spell Focus, Spell Mastery, Spell Penetration, Spell Rehearsal, Vatic Gaze, or any metamagic, item creation, or reserve feat.

Impromptu Magic: A 10th-level arcanamagus can expend a spell slot to cast another spell from his spellbook that is at least 1 level lower than the level of the spell slot sacrificed. This ability can be used once per encounter.

Believe it or not, this idea had been floating around in my head for quite some time; when the Ultimate Magus came out I was pleasantly surprised someone else was thinking along the same lines. However, the execution was different enough from mine that I finally decided to get off my ass and post this muthaf***a.' Any critiques would be extremely welcome.

It would be easier to read if it wasn't all in a spoiler block. Although you do sacrifice one spellcasting level I think the rest of the class is too strong. Doubling up on stats for spell DC is likely to be very strong especially if your group doesn't recognize a 14 as a good stat. I also don't like that you are basically saying if you have a spell in your spellbook you can prepare it even if it your highest level spell.

For a similiar class take a look at one tarkin posted a few days back.

Sweet Jesus, what the Hell is wrong with you people? (Although I admit to being relatively negligent towards tis class in general; Uncanny Forethought breaks the Hell out of it anyway).

Call it "Warlock Fix" and watch the views roll in. Simple math, there's more idiots than decent designers here.

I'll comment though: while it's a novel idea, it's not much new. Pretty much shuffling the same deck of cards and calling it a new game.
