A quick questions about this PrC. The Energy Drain ability states, "...Beginning at 1st level, the touch of a soul eater bestows one negative level on a its target. At 7th level, the soul eater bestows 2 negative levels with a touch." Does this mean that you have to use a standard touch attack action in order to bestow the negative levels, or can the character bestow negative levels via an unarmed attack or natural weapon? (or both?)

I think, that because it says "with a touch" and not "with a touch attack", if a creature/character hits with a natural weapon (fists, claws, tail slam, wing-buffet, etc), it'd do the drain effect.

It would make more sense for it to be with natural attacks, since you need natural attacks to qualify for the PrC.

I did a bit more research and found something that might answer my quetion. Under vampires in the MM, it says, "...living creatures hit by a vampire's slam attack (or any other natural weapon the vampire might possess) gain two negative levels. <snip> A vampire can use its energy drain ability once per round."

Under monk, it says a monks unarmed attack ability is both considered a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon. Cool! Right? Maybe not...

A WotC FAQ says: "Please note that a vampire monk using its unarmed strike ability is not using its slam attack and cannot drain energy."

Well, the vampire descritpion says you can use natural weapons or a slam attack to deliver the draining attack. So...which one is correct?

While my character isn't a vampire, I would expect the rule to work similar in my case.

But doesnt it also say in the parenthesies ( ) that the damage of the Vampire Monk is under Unarmed Strike (1-10+5 PLUS energy drain) or Kama or sling

what about that?

Im looking for some semblance of a ruling also, as a player in my campaign has a spectre whom has monk levels and thus can flurry, in this instance can the spectral flurry drain multiple times or is there a generic cap on all drain abilities/round.
