OK, I have an 8th level Soulborn, with enough XP to go up another level. I'm thinking having him go into the Incarnum Blade PrC, and I'm wondering if I should use the extra level I have now for that, or if I should put it off for a couple more levels. Or if I should consider another class altogether. I meet all the requirements for Incarnum Blade, but I have to warn you, my DM is one of the kinds that requires you role-play multiclassing. If it's a class that generates powers spontaniously (like the Sorc), he doesn't mind gaining levels in the middle of the game, or if it's closely aligned to how you've already been playing, he doesn't have a problem with it, but this sort of thing would need me to find someone of that class to train me in it.

I personally don't care for Incarnum Blade. I'd say the Incandescent Champion is a better option, unless of course you aren't good aligned.

Also, multiclassing into Cleric and becoming a Saphire Heirarch would be some nice roleplay, especially if you are lawful or already have a strong connection to a deity, such as St. Cutbert.
If you need a spontaneous caster, Favored Soul works well, although it will take longer to qaulify for Heirarch.

Of course, if you are neither lawful nor good, than I'd suggest just continuing your Soulborn base class.
