| WIUGamers08-16-07, 09:45 AM | Earlier, I made a prestige class called the speed Athlete. I gave it a lot of thought and found that I wasn't very happy with the results. This came from beta testing and such. I have gone a new angle. This is the same concept, focusing on charging and multiple attacks while moving. This time, however, I made a focus on the scout. It made things a lot simpler, and I think it's more flexible. Here it is. Please let me know what you think. Speed Scout Speed Scouts are found in very few places. This type of scout focuses on speed and eventually it turns into a dangerous weapon that they can use. Rigorous training is taken in order to be competent, and many times, a person can die from all of the major training. Speed Scouts can choose to be aggressive and charge with their speed, but most of the time, they just keep to their job. Race - any Alignment - any Requirements Scout Base land speed 50. Feats - Run. Fleet of Foot. Improved Overrun. Improved Bull Rush. Skills - Balance - 8 ranks. Concentration - 8 ranks. Hit Dice d8 Skills Balance (dex). Concentration (con). Move Silently (dex). Jump (str). Tumble (dex). Survival (wis). Spot (wis). Listen (wis). Profession (Athlete) (wis). Climb (str). Swim (str). Hide (dex). Heal (wis). Skill Selection 8 + Intelligence Modifier Weapon & Armor Proficiencies Same as previous class, but cannot use medium armor or heavy armor, or any two handed weapon. This results in all abilities lost. Class Features Special Training - Speed Scout cannot gain speed again from any other class after this class is taken. They train hard and gain +10 speed every other level. Scout Knowledge - Speed Scouts retain their scout knowledge. This class stacks with Scouts to determine Skirmish. Mobile Sprinting - level 4 - A Speed Scout can change direction at will during charge. Speed Attack - level 5 - A Speed Scout’s skirmish modifiers are doubled during a charge. Battle Speed - level 10 - A Speed Scout can use haste 3x rounds per Constitution Modifier during the day at will. Advanced Speed Attack - level 10 - A Speed Scout has reached the top of his training. Skirmish modifiers are tripled during a charge. Level BAB F R Will Special 1 +1 +0 +2 +0 Improved evasion. 2 +2 +0 +3 +0 Combat Reflexes. +10 speed 3 +3 +1 +3 +1 Spring Attack. 4 +4 +1 +4 +1 Mobile Sprinting. +20 speed 5 +5 +1 +4 +1 Speed Attack. 6 +6 +2 +5 +2 Bounding Assault. +30 speed 7 +7 +2 +5 +2 8 +8 +2 +6 +2 +40 speed 9 +9 +3 +6 +3 Rapid Blitz 10 +10 +3 +7 +3 Battle Speed. | WIUGamers08-20-07, 12:58 AM | I feared that the peak of the class may have been too strong. If a scout charges successfully, they get +15 to AC and +15d6 damage on successful attacks. but.....i don't think it's too bad compared to the optimum of sorcs and wizards. |

I'm a level 4 scout, level 1 ranger and i skirmish for 4D6, +3AC already, thanks to the improved skirmish feat. That feat would bump the charge to +21d6 and 21Ac on a charge. How bad my DM will never allow me to use this prC. Pooey The speed 50ft requirement would mean you would have to be an 11th level scout to qualify though. |
| WIUGamers08-21-07, 05:11 PM | yeah. well....i consider it to be a class that you dedicate. and I believe that having an argument for this class being too strong can be countered by spells from a wizard. say....maximized fireball? and you know, this class is easily defeatable. give me a while and i'll remember how. lol |
