I will be getting a new feat soon. I plan for it to be either purify spell or purify spell-like ability. If I used purify spell like ability on a spell blast, would the fireball I attached be affected as well? what would Happen if I tried to cast a purfied fireball with sickening blast attached?

It is a really good question. I'm truly not sure. You better ask you dungeon master as they might rule either way no matter the opinion on the board.

Here's they way that I would do it. The spell isn't a spell-like ability for the Purify Spell-Like Ability would affect only the essence applied to the spell.

That is either the worst grammar evver or you do not understand the specifics of the Eldrich thurge class. you cannot spell blast and apply an eldrich essense invocation to the attached spell, it is one or the other. Spell blast is an eldrich essense invocation. it works differently.

I did remember it a bit wroung, but...

Spellbast is an invocation that places a spell on your eldritch blast. The attached spell is not a spell-like ability.

what we really need is an official ruling. there is a lot of gray area in the rules.

Well, I wouldn't complain. Until then ask your dungeon master.

Treat spellblast as a spell whose level is equal to the area spell placed upon the eldritch blast (minimum 4th level)

Spellblast is considered a spell. The very last line iis quite clear. Its an eldritch essence for affecting eldritch blasts, but the entire package (the eldritch blast with spellblast attached and the area spell) is considered a spell. Therefor you would need to use a Metamagic Feat with it. The problem with this is that you can't attach a Metamagic Feat to an eldritch blast, nor can you attach a Meta Spell-like ability feat to a spell. So no matter which feat you use its not ever going to be able to effect both the eldritch blast and the spell attached to it. If somehow you could prepare a Spellblast... then you'd be able to prepare the Spellblast with Purify Spell.

Since I'm pretty sure that's impossible, the best you can do then is to grab Purify Spell. You can prepare your spell Purified and then attach the Purified spell to an Eldritch Blast. The Blast itself isn't going to be Purified, but... there you go. Even if you grabbed Purify Spell-Like Ability you couldn't Purify an Eldritch Blast that is used as part of a Spellblast as the Spellblast in entirety is a spell.
