St. Cuthbert Prestige Class? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-04-07, 01:27 PM I see lots of prestige classes relating to specific deities in the various divine splatbooks, but I've yet to see one for ol' St. Cuthbert's church, one of the core beliefs of D&D. Is there one out there I've just missed, or are the good saint's followers stuck as standard clerics?

06-04-07, 02:10 PM There may not be any St. Cuthbert specific PrCs but there are many that certainly fit the flavor. Basically any Lawful only divine PrC fits that bill especially if it has a more zealos angle on it. To me the Church Inquisitor just screams St.Cuthbert and do a number of other PrCs of that nature.

Nothing for Boccob, Vecna, Farlahnghn or Kord...it's all in the flavor.

Just because something isn't specifically keyed for an individual diety, many of them fit respected dieties. As said before, Church Inquisitor is great for St. Cuthy. Similarly to how Loremaster is great for Vecna and Boccob, or, how Warpriest (terrible PrC, I know) is great for worshipers of Kord.

It's all in the spice.

06-05-07, 09:32 AM I think the Gray Guard (Complete Scoundrel) was made for a paladin with St. Cuthbert in mind.

06-05-07, 10:56 AM Hmm, I would expect the Justiciar or the Vigilante to be more its kind of people ;) But yes, Church Inquisitor seems to have a rather Cuthbertite feel to it.

06-05-07, 01:14 PM Inquisitor was definitely what I thought seemed closest, so I'm glad we all are on the same train of thought.

Sadly, my cleric player will have to do some major adjustments to go that route, so we'll see.

I was just reading that PrC last night, and it's a pretty good one. Full casting plus a whole slew of abilities to defend agaisnt charms and detect lies. Not too shabby.
