Stormlord help [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-20-07, 04:40 PM My DM and I are working on adapting the Stormlord PrC for use with Thor as the patron deity requirement. The first thing we've done is change all of the spear and javelin specifics to the warhammer and light hammer respectively. I'm not sure that any other changes really need to be made to the class, but suggestions would be nice if you have them.

Also, what's a good build for a Stormlord? Character level is 10th and I'm fairly certain that I will be playing a human. Thank you.

07-20-07, 04:59 PM Not certain of a specific build, but I would love to get Stormlord(of thor) and Bloodstorm Blade together to make some sweet little magic together... now that would do justice to Mjollnir.

08-02-07, 06:48 PM There really isn't much else to do. For a Thor variant, all you have to do is make the Patron Deity Thor instead of Talos, and switch the weapons over to hammer-types. That's it.

08-07-07, 04:47 PM You can see if you DM let you take the Stormcaster class in stormwrack, I think is a better class than the Stormlord.

For a more caster oriented ill go with:
Cleric 5 / Stormcaster 5

If you don't need to make a cleric, and your DM allow ToB try the variation of the swordsage that can learn some spells:

Swordsage 5/ Bloodstorm Blade 5

Choose some electric spells and you get a thor wanna be.

08-08-07, 01:58 PM I looked at Stormcaster, and the biggest problem with that is that my Stormlord would be one of the primary melee characters in the group (scout/shadowdancer, warmage, rogue/cleric/black flame zealot). Also, storm ride is going to be a huge help, as there is a nearly continent wide storm in effect until the party finds a way to undo it (rains that raise the dead, controlled by an extremely powerful lich [who also has control of the Mighty Servant of Lukko]). I think my DM may be mad with power ;).
