TexasFriedCriminal 04-28-07, 07:45 AM	Sword of the Sacred Spell No fluff yet, this is just a mechanical write up, if it comes out fine after PEACHing, I will add flavor. The SotSS is meant primarily as a Paladin/Sorcerer gish class, but it is available to pure sorcerers, fighter(or ranger)/sorcerers and even bards. Mechanically, the class gives abilities that are powered by expending spell slots as well as granting bonus spells known from the paladin spell list. As a standard action, if you expend an unused level 0 spell slot, you produce a light (as the spell) effect, that lasts for a number of hours equal to 1 plus your charisma bonus (if any). You caster level for this effect is equal to your character level. As a standard action, if you expend an unused 2nd level spell slot, you can dispel any magical darkness effect in a radius of 60 ft Paladin Spells I Pick two of the following spells, they are added to your first level arcane spells known: cure light wounds, divine favor, divine sacrifice, bless weapon, create water Channel energy (divine feats) (Su) You gain the ability to expend spells slot to power divine feats. For purposes of qualifying for feats, you are treated as if having the ability to turn undead. If you expend an unused 1st level spell slot, you can power one divine feat as if you had expended one of your turn undead uses for the day. This is part of the action required to activate the divine feat. If you expend an unused 3rd level spell slot, the duration of the effect of used divine feat is doubled. For example, if you used this ability to power a Divine Might feat, you gain the bonus to your damage rolls for 2 rounds instead of one. This is part of the action required to activate the divine feat. Bonus divine feat You gain a bonus divine feat. You must qualify for the feat as usual. Channel Energy (healing) (Su) You gain the ability to expend spell slots to improve your lay on hands ability As a swift action, if you expend an unused 2nd level spell slot, your sword of the sacred spell levels count as paladin levels for the purposes of your lay on hands ability for the rest of the day (until your lay on hands ability resets again). If you do not already have the lay on hands ability, you gain it when you use this ability. If you expend an unused 4th level spell slot, you can refill you lay on hands pool as if it had reset itself after resting. If you use this ability and you have expended an unused 2nd level spell slot to count your sword of the sacred spell levels as paladin spells for the purposes of your lay on hands ability, you lose that abilities effect as if your lay on hands ability had reset itself. Using this ability takes 10 minutes of uninterrupted meditation. You can use this ability once per day. If you do not have the lay on hands ability from levels in another class, you lose it when you use this ability, but you can expend another 2nd level spell slot to regain it as described above. Paladin Spells II Pick two of the following spells, they are added to your 2nd level arcane spells known: restoration, lesser, shield other, zeal, cloak of bravery, Channel energy (metamagic) (Su) You gain the ability to expend unused spell slots to apply the effects of certain metamagic feats. As a swift action, if you expend an unused 3rd level spell slot, you can apply the effect of one of the following metamagic feats on a spell you cast before the end of your current turn. This does not change to level of the spell, nor does it increase its casting time to a full round action. The avaible feats are: extend spell, enlarge spell, energize spell(*), consecrate spell (**). As a swift action, if you expend an unused 5th level spell slot, you can instead apply the effects of one of the following metamagic feats: reach spell, empower spell. Channel energy (resurrection) (Su) You gain the ability to permanently give up a spell slot to bring someone back from the dead. If you permanently give up an unused 5th level spell slot, you can cast resurrection on a deserving target. If you permanently give up an unused 7th level spell slot, you can cast true resurrection on a deserving target. If you use any of the above two options and also permanently give up an unused 4th level spell slot, you can cast the resurrection or true resurrection spell as standart action instead of as an action taking 10 minutes. You may use this ability only once per month. Paladin Spells III Pick two of the following spells, they are added to your 3rd level arcane spells known: blessing of bahamut, cure moderate wounds, prayer, remove curse Paladin Spells IV Pick two of the following spells, they are added to your 4th level arcane spells known: sacred haven, holy sword, deathward, mark of justice, visage of the deity, lesser. so, PEACH if you will!
