With intelligence and dexterity they can make larger, stronger enemies feel inferior. Always alert for the opening and ready to move on it, the twisting patterns of their swords leave foes guessing as to whether steel, flames, acid or worse might come at them next. Prereq: (**so far, a total of 7 levels is min**) Feats: Combat Casting; Combat Expertise; Two-Weapon Fighting; Weapon Focus with any light or finesse weapon. Skills: Knowledge Arcane 5; Spellcraft 5; Concentration 8 BAB: +5 Spells: Able to cast 2nd level arcane spells. Class abilities: HP: d6 Saves: Will good; Reflex good; Fort slow Skills: 2 + Int per level Balance; Concentration; Craft; Decipher Script; Jump; Knowledge Arcana; Intimidate; Sense Motive; Spellcraft BAB: +1 per level (best) Level Ability Spells 1 Swordhand; - 2 Weapon Finesse +1 level existing arcane spellcasting class 3 +1 level existing arcane spellcasting class 4 Cunning - 5 Spell Attack +1 level existing arcane spellcasting class 6 +1 level existing arcane spellcasting class 7 Improved Style - 8 Magic Quick Draw +1 level existing arcane spellcasting class 9 +1 level existing arcane spellcasting class 10 Full Attack Spell - (***All abilities only apply when fighting with any light or finesse weapon(s) that you have Weapon Focus for***) Swordhand: Beginning at first level, the Swordhand learns the tricks of the trade. He/she can make the intricate gestures needed to cast spells, of up to their current Swordhand level, with the weapons they have in hand. The somatic components are completed with the weapon(s) and the material components are consumed without needing to be handled from your ready supplies. (ex. At first level, you can only cast 1st level spells this way.) Weapon Finesse: The Swordhand’s hours of practice with their weapons hones their attack prowess as well. At 2nd level, they receive the Weapon Finesse feat free for any light or finesse weapon(s) that they have Weapon Focus for. If, at later levels, they attain Weapon Focus for other weapons that apply, they also attain the Weapon Finesse feat for those weapons. Cunning: Quick thinking and quick reactions give you an advantage in combat as you learn to keep your blades flashing readily between you and your opponent. When fighting with light or finesse weapons for which you have the Weapon Focus Feat, you can choose to apply your intelligence modifier as an insight bonus to either your AC (defensive) or your weapon damage rolls (offensive). You can change from offense to defense or vice versa once per round, on your turn, as a free action. The AC bonus only applies to attacks that you know are coming…not when you are surprised. Spell Attack: Sometimes it is handy to have your weapons in hand. Once per round, in any round that you successfully cast a spell using your Swordhand class ability (ie. weapons in hand), as a swift action, you can make one attack against an opponent you threaten. This attack is at your full BAB with any other conditional adjustments, such as feats or abilities, which apply. Improved Style: As your weapons become one with your hand you become capable of many subtle tricks. Choose one of the Improved feats (Feint, Trip, or Disarm) for which Combat Expertise is a prerequisite, for free. OR, alternatively, you can take one of the Two-Weapon style feats that you qualify for. (Two-Weapon Defense; Improved or Greater Two-Weapon Fighting) Magic Quick Draw: As your connection with your weapons grows, they are never far from hand. If your weapons are within 30 feet, you can draw them as a free action. This ability will not function in an Anti Magic Field, and requires 1 hour of preparation and 25 gp of inks, oils and other spell components per weapon. Your weapons only need to be customized (marked) once. Full Attack Spell: At tenth level, you have mastered the art of casting spells with your weapons in hand. Your blades stay between you and your foe in a deadly flashing dance. You can cast a spell with a casting time of standard (or less) as part of a full attack action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. |
