Telepathic Enchanter (help) [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-27-07, 06:07 PM I am trying to make a lvl 8 character, an enchanter of sorts, with at least one level of mindbender. I was wondering, the Complete Arcane lists the example character as lvl 6 sorc 4 mindbender, but sorcerers dont have intimidate as a class skill, which would make getting 4 ranks in 6 levels impossible right? Or am I missing something? Also, I'm debating on being a sorcerer or a beguiler.

BTW this game will have very minimal combat, so I'm looking for more persuasive spells, and even if there are fights I should have some charmed dude to back m up. I wont do much fighting anyway; I'm taking willing deformity and obesity.

Also, my character will torture people a lot, so any suggestions would be great.

Agreed.

If you're set with Sorcerer, you can get the 4 ranks in 6 levels because you can still take Intimidate as a cross-class skill.

6 (level) + 3 = 9 max class skill ranks
Cross class skill ranks = Half of 9 (or 4.5)

Meaning, of course, you have the Intimidate prerequisite (along with the others) by level 5.

12-29-07, 10:25 PM Oh, yeah, I knew that, must have gotten confused. I am also looking towards being a lvl 6 warlock for the charm invoc and skills. Im taking the Willing Deformity feat, with deformity: obesity for flavor, along with SF (ench) and GSF (ench), unless I go warlock, then I'll just take ability focus.

Any other suggestions?

Take a look at the warlock skills and invocations. Enchanter is not something warlocks pull off. For bumping DC, snowcasting, eschew materials, draconic aura(cold), and any one of the many ways to grab the dragonblooded subtype will give a nice scaling boost to all your DCs. Add on cold focus and greater cold focus for another +2 to all spell DCs. This is more geared towards a wizard, but is still pretty sound for a beguiler.
