Weapon and Armor proficiencies: A Soul Reaper gains the appropriate Weapon Proficiency feat for one weapon of their choice, if they need it.

Ghost Warrior (Ex): Beginning at first level, a Soul Reaper gains the ability to affect incorporeal creatures as easily as corporeal ones. All weapons wielded by a Soul Reaper are treated as Ghost Touch weapons for purposes of striking incorporeal foes. In addition, all damaging spells cast by a Soul Reaper are treated as Force effects for purposes of determining if an incorporeal creature can be affected by them.

Spirit Weapon (Su): At first level, a Soul Reaper gains access to a special weapon formed from a portion of their own soul. Choose one weapon, of any weapon type. Your soul weapon is thereafter always treated as that type of weapon for purposes of determining bonuses from feats, but the character is automatically considered proficient with their Spirit Weapon. You also may choose enchantments to affect the blade, up to a +2 equivalent cost.
At fifth level, you gain access to the Released form of your Spiritual Weapon, gaining additional bonuses. Choose additional enchantments to place upon your Spiritual Weapon, totaling up to a +3 enchantment equivalent. These bonuses stack with the bonuses chosen at first level.
At tenth level, a Soul Reapers Spirit Weapon reaches it's ultimate level of power, Bankai. You may choose additional enchantments to place upon your Spirit Weapon, totaling a +5. These bonuses stack with the two improvements before, granting your Spirit Weapon the equivalent of a +10 enchantment total.
Summoning your Spirit Weapon, in any of it's forms, requires a full-round action, and it remains until dismissed, sundered, or dispelled. Once deprived of it, a Soul Reaper must wait for a minimum of 1 minute before they may call upon it again.

Incorporeal Spell Learning: At every even-numbered level, a Soul Reaper chooses one spell from any class list with the Force descriptor, and adds that spell to their list of spells available. If they prepare spells, than this means they have the ability to prepare that spell, in addition to their normal spells. The spell chosen cannot be of a spell level higher than your Soul Reaper level-1. Example, Jozan has just acquired a level, and advances to a 2nd level Soul Reaper, gaining the first tier of this ability. He may only select a spell of 0 or 1st level to acquire, and the spell must have the Force descriptor.

Spirit Body: Beginning at 7th level, a Soul Reaper may enter into the spirit world for short lengths of time. A Soul Reaper may take a standard action to become incorporeal for a number of rounds equal to his Soul Reaper level plus his Con modifier. These rounds do not have to be used all at once, and may be spread out through a day however the Soul Reaper desires.

...Wow, 41 views and not one reply. I suppose that means I should clean up the op a bit?

I think possible gripes people might have with this class, is that it has to do with anime (because some people absolutely love it and others absolutely hate it), and there is no table provided that lists save and BAB progression and when the class gets what at which level.

So yeah, you might want to add a table. Makes things look more clean and smooth. :)

Big fan of bleach, and currently going through my second viewing of the series. Got them all on my computer in subbed form. The class looks like the Kensai, only a bit of changes done to it. I think the BAB and saves may be better though, and instead of getting a +1 per level, it gets it in chunks. I do wonder if my GM would allow this class though :)

I think bleach could be done by just doing a gestalt campaign with divine classes as your gestalt options if you're a shinigami.
(Oh, and using the spellpoint system, which would cheese metamagic lol!)

Quincy would be psionics. Infact pretty much any mortal with spirit sensitivity (like Chad) would be psionic gestalt. (Might want to buff the soulknife up a bit so it's a decent contender for gestalt builds)

And hollow? Probably undead. Undead that exist inbetween the matireal and extradimensional plane. (Hense they cannot be sensed by mortals) But are perfectly capable inbetween crossing those planes of disrupting life on both.

Arguably hollow act more like fiends then undead, but the process of becoming a hollow is much more like undead. So you could have fun with this gestalting monsters together. The players would never see that coming.

Here we go again...

1st off; Get rid of the Alignment restriction. There are a few evil shinigami, like Aizen, Ichimauro Gin.

2nd; Get rid off the Divine spell level requirements and give them there own spell list.

3rd; Shinigami can't Turn undead, so it shouldn't be a prerequisite

4th; Incorporeal Spell Learning, just no.

5th; Spirit Body, should be given at a much lower level and should be run on CHA

6th; The Shikai and bankai need a duration time. Lets say 1min per Shinigami level per day for Shikai and 2 rounds per Shinigami level Per day for Bankai

7th; Most Shinigami dont no nothing about religion, so remove that knowledge requirment

8th; Change the Special req to, maybe a feat req that allows you to see the Astral Plane

Im trying go with how the actual Shingami works.

And I am trying to develop a class that has the same feel as the Soul Reapers, while still fitting into the D&D world.
1: OK, granted. Done.
2: And what would be on that list? Most of what I have seen them do could be represented as a spell from the Cleric list, with one or two exceptions that could be accounted for by the ISL ability.
3: True, but they do fight against undead a lot. I was thinking about this mostly being a PrC for Clerics
8: Do you have a suggestion? Or perhaps just make the Special that they must be able to see the Astral Plane freely, in addition to the Material?

The rest I mostly agree with, and will change when I have the chance.

Favoured Enemy: Undead might work better.

As for their own list, that could be possible, rather than advancing casting levels as it is. Personally, I think that full casting advancement isn't really Shinigami style. Half advancement might not really be it either, so two or three casting levels less could do it (level 1, 5 and 10, for instance).

By the by, I see that you intend them to get Bankai at level 10. When would they get Shikai?

I haven't seen really far in the series, what is Shikai?
