Hey guys

A player in one of my campaigns recently survived a TPK that I manufactured in order to bring a campaign to an end as a number of them were moving away. I thought in honour of this momentus achievement I should probably reward her with a PrC that she can take as she moves the character over to a different campaign, and so the world walker was born. Problem is I'm having trouble getting the whole thing to hang together, I've got an idea of the main abilities I want the class to get but I'm unsure on the right pre-reqs to give and what to do for a bonus feat list. With regard to bonus feats I was hoping for a list that emphasised the "go it alone" nature of the class or general wandering the lands type feats like wanderers diplomacy. NOw I'm wondering whether to bin bonus feats completely and go for a 3 level class.

Anyway any direction you could give would be great, and without further ado...

The World Walker

Sole survivor of some great tragedy the world walker has set himself apart from others deciding that this chosen separation is less painful than having his compatriots wrenched away from him by forces beyond his own control. World Walkers live by their wits, trusting in themselves and in their abilities. This does not mean they will not travel with others, they recognise that sometimes there may be an aspect of a challenge they cannot deal with on their own, but they will always make sure they have a way out and will never become close with those who accompany them.

Requirements:
BAB: +5
Skills: Survival 7, Heal 7
Feats:Alertness, Endurance
Special: Have been the only survivor of a traumatic event, eg village being razed to the ground, Have embarked on a years travels living off the land following this

Hit Dice: d8
BAB: Med
Fort: Good
Ref: Low
Will: Good

Level - Abilities
1 - Wanderer's Tale, Healing Hands
2 - Bonus Feat
3 - Uncanny Dodge
4 - Bonus Feat
5 - An Extension of the Will

Wanderer's Tale - As Bardic Knowledge, Stacks with same
Healing Hands - As Lay on Hands but uses WIS, Stacks with Paladin levels using higher of Wis or Cha
An Extension of the Will - When using simple weapons gains WIS to attack and damage.

... I'll come up with fluff descriptions a bit better when I'm less tired but it would be great if I could get some input on whats there so far.

cheers

Please tell me that you mean WIS bonus to attack and damage rolls, and not the characters Wisdom score. Other than that. I kind of dig this. It's griity without going too far into Trigun or something like that. Oh another thing, is this class designed for Clerics, Druids, and Rangers?? I ask as I can think of few classes that use these skills extensively. Still, kudos, this looks good.

oooh, I like it. I would not shorten it to three levels, because the wis bonus to attack and damage at the last level is potentially very potent, and you need the player to work for it! (unless it doesn't stack with strength.)

Slightly more awake when posting this evening, I did indeed mean WIS bonus not score, score would be somewhat excessive.

The character in question is actually a Monk/Paladin but it could work pretty well for a ranger. I don't see a cleric or druid giving up 5 levels of spellcasting (and wildshape) though it might work for some more combat based builds.

Gadren you hit the nail on the head about condensing to 3 levels, I had the same concern. Problem then comes back to coming up with a reasonable list of bonus feats. I took the entry level for the PrC from OA that granted a similar ability at first level and tried to grant it at a similar or later time.

Glad you like it though :) any further criticisms (or praise) welcome and appreciated
