Are there any prestige classes that specialize in throwing besides the Hulking Hurler and the Master Thrower?

Looking for a new direction for my half-orc fighter.

ToB has the Bloodstorm Blade, that might be a good idea.

Second the Bloodstorm Blade, it's in the ToB but it's not completely ToB-based; even if you aren't using ToB stuff in your campaign, the BB could still be usable.

I've looked at the BB and I do like it, unfortunately we can't take classes from it. It says that Fighters can take the Martial Study and Martial Stance feats, but a fighter can't meet the requirements for knowing stances, even if a feat gives him the ability to take a stance.

Any other besides those three classes?

The Fighter can easily meet those prerequisites. Unlike Martial Study, Martial Stance can be taken as many times as you want. You are treated as knowing the stance when you take the feat.

When I checked the book, it showed levels in certain classes as being required to learn those stances. A Fighter does not have levels in those classes.

You do not require levels in a martial adept class to know a stance. Merely taking the Martial Stance feat is sufficient.

I think what he's talking about is the fact that stances have levels, and thus require a minimum initiator level. The thing is, unlike for instance caster levels, non-initiator classes actually do provide initiator levels, at a rate of 2:1.

Thus, as I understand it a 6th level Fighter would count as a 3rd level initiator, for example, and could thus learn either a 1st or a 2nd level Stance by taking the Martial Stance feat, if he met the prereqs for it. Additionally, Fighter4/swordsag4 would count as a 6th level initiator for Swordsage-school maneuvers/stances (Desert Wind, for instance) and a 4th level initiator for other types (Devoted Spirit, for example).

Eyeless Blond is right, and yes, just like everyone else is saying, you can qualify for Bloodstorm Blade as a regular old fighter by taking the Martial Stance feat. I'd like to draw you away from that class however because I find it ridiculously overpowered, and a lot of its abilities just don't make any physical sense to me.

The hulking thrower and master thrower are good ones and there are other options you could look at too in various Forgotten Realms books. I just completely hate the Bloodstorm Blade.

The character is too small for Hulking Hurler and is unable to get the Sleight of Hand requirement for Master Thrower, due to not wanting XP penalties (which we enforce).

Maybe I will make my own for the Brutal Throw crowd. :D

EDIT: Stupid me! I just remembered you said half-orc. Nevermind...

Worked up a partial 5 level prestige class for the brute strength crowd.

I will polish it up when I get home.

Brutal Thrower

BAB - Good; FORT - Good; REF - POOR; WILL - POOR

Level 1 - Gain Throw Anything feat even if they do not meet the requirements

Level 2 - Undecided

Level 3 - Knockdown Blow: STR check greater than damage done + 10 or be knocked prone.

Level 4 - Deadeye Shot - increase Crit multiplier for one type of weapon when thrown; must be chosen when reaching this level

Level 5 - Penetrating Throw (ranged attack targets every foe in 60' line); must meet requirements

I looks pretty good for just a quick thing. A few suggestions though. Knockdown blow is pretty powerful with 10+dmg done. When at higher levels you should be getting around 30 dmg with your attack so that would be a 40 sstr check which is kinda high. I would suggest just putting the check at dmg dealt and leave it at that.

And for penetrating throw, no thrown weapon can make make 60ft accept a javelin with the far shot feat. Perhaps just allowing the penetrating shot feat with a thrown weapon but you can only throw a max of 1 range increment of the weapon being used.

Other than that the class is not bad. Can't wait to see if more polished.

I've finished the prestige class, it can be found here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=948763).
