To my knowledge, the foresaker from 3.0 (Masters of the Wild) has not been updated. The only thing I can see that would even need to be updated is the DR. If anyone has any info or suggestions on this I'd appreciate it!

To my knowledge, the foresaker from 3.0 (Masters of the Wild) has not been updated. The only thing I can see that would even need to be updated is the DR. If anyone has any info or suggestions on this I'd appreciate it! More than just the DR. The forsaker class has broken features even in 3.0; for example, it makes more sense if forsaking magic were linked to SR, not DR.

This post describes a playtested version of a forsaker updated to 3.5, but in my opinion it's too biased toward barbarian, and has too many enhancements. (The author wrote to me that he has since removed the Rage enhancements). Basically what he did was nerf one of the save bonuses in exchange for some other abilities per level. In particular, I like the magic destruction points feature, where destroying magic creatures or items nets you magic destruction points, similar to XP, which drain at SRx100/day.

I've played a variant in which the forsaker abilities were tied to killing magic-using creatures as opposed to destroying magic items.
The DM decided that trashing treasure that the group had earned was too disruptive, and so the special abilities were powered by how many hit dice of magic users, creatures with magical abilites, or extraplanar creatures he killed.

As a hint: If you use a version where your abilities are tied to destroying magic items, take Improved Sunder. Its great.

Also, the Mage Slayer and associated feats from Complete Arcane would fit in well with this class.
