olpolok 07-06-07, 03:48 PM	I am going to play an Ur Priest as my next character and I was hoping you guys could give me some insight on what other classes I can combine it with considering that once you complete the 10 lvls of Ur Priest your pretty much done with "divine" spell-casting so what other classes could be picked to complement the character and make it better/stronger. Thats all folks :P

General_Ridley 07-06-07, 08:28 PM	Hierophant. 5 levels of pure caster level added directly to Ur-Priest, and what amounts to 5 free metamagic feats. I like it.

Not that it's bad of course it just seems ironic :) I like to think of it as taking Ur-Priest to its natural extreme: you've stolen from the gods for so long that you are now going to move forward steal their greatest gifts, those reserved only for the truly devoted.

You have full access to 9th level spells. You have to do something with your life, so why not make it fun? You're pretty guaranteed to have a metamagic feat, so Hierophant is well within reach. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question.

Halaku 07-07-07, 01:37 AM	Personaly i always try to pair urpriest with another +caster progression class, and it can make the mystic theurge useful, wizX/urpriest1/theurge9 then back to wizard is always a fun run.

Ocom 07-07-07, 02:52 PM	Another reason for it being more popular with multi-casters is that it's caster level gets a bonus from other caster levels. i think it was Ur-Priest caster level + 1/2 other caster levels so a wizard 5/ur-priest2/mystic theruge 8/(something with full wizard progression)5 has 19CL *get a few spells that create devoted followers for you(meatshield) *magic items that conceal your alignment against those pesky coodies *Always keep a few escape spells and Summon (Meat) ready Also one nice class that would go with Single-Caster Ur-Priest would be Bone Knight from some Eberron book.

TheDanishCartoonist 07-08-07, 05:43 PM	Note that neither of the builds in this thread actually are legal. wiz 5/ ur-priest 1/mystic theurge doesn't have the required saves to get into ur-priest or the spellcasting to get into mystic theurge, and wiz 5/ur-priest 2 again doesn't meet the save requirements. Wiz 5/Mindbender 1/ Ur-priest 2/Mystic theurge 8 would be legal and pretty damn neat if you have 18 int and are a human to get the skills in question.

Theoretically they could and if you go down that path then they could steal "any" power. It's more a balancing factor and they have more than enough, don't you think? ;)

olpolok 07-08-07, 10:33 PM	Does it specify anywhere that Ur Priests are restraint to cast only cleric divine spells? does it even say that they have cleric lists? (Through is kind of obvious considering it says in the description they steal their spells from the "deities" yet is just mere speculation) do the rules say anything about this?

Read under class features, second para. The ur-priest spell list is identical to the cleric spell list. LOL
