Hey would you guys allow a vampire sorceror to become a blood magus, he technically fits the reqs, he died and came back to life prior to being turned, but im not sure if the blood he drinks in fact does pump in his veins, id say he can, but i just need to think of some sort of side effect to him using his limited (till he feeds) blood to power his spells.

any opinion is welcomed.

He meets the requirements, but that's as far as he goes. He would role-play terribly.

Personally, I think it is a very fun idea. Seems to fit the pre-reqs. Have the character worship blood or a bloodgod. Watch Blade. Something similar in mythology as that. Or you could draw your backstory from ancient Babylon and Assyria as they both had a number of deities for whom blood was a big deal. Keep us posted!

Yeah i mean i was thinking and who BETTER to play it than a vampire, whos entire existence relies on blood, to be a blood magus.

What I was thinking was to require him to feed more after using his abilites too much or something, or maybe just make it like he hasnt fed for a day.

K well, a little update. He worshipes Cundarlash (a homebrew diety made before he even became a vampire lol) who is a god of undeath and actually is a blood psycho himself, the gods backstory is that he was a vampire and ended up facing a high lvl worshiper of a diety and became infused with some power yada yada and now hes a demi-god, so i would easily say he can play the fanatical blood follower role fairly well. I dont remember where i saw the rules for feeding as far as vampires go, if anyone can point me to it id appreciate it.

But my thoughts on it are this, yeah i know its pushing it as far as the life/death requirement is, but i think its a really cool concept, when he asked me about it i was actually really surprised, the player is the kinda person that usually is pretty basic as far as roleplaying an indepth character goes, but hes doing a great job with this one.

So im thinkin that the blood magus can somewhat increase his need to feed, like after using too many abilities or whatever becuase the vamp has limited blood, and so itll be like an additional role playing thing, and the minor setback wouldnt hurt him too much.

Well, it's a bit weird. Reading the fluff, I got the feeling that the blood magus has to come back to life before entering the PrC - perhaps it's to let him/her become aware of the flow of blood. However, he can later die and become a vampire, and I don't think this will prevent him/her from taking more BM levels.

It's cool enough either way. The weirdest part would be to have been a vampire, to be killed, and then resurrected as a mortal. I think that would qualify 200%.
