I just wanted to get other people's opinion on a variation to the Tempest prestige class. I've had this idea for less than 5 minutes so obviously it could possibly be very flawed, but here goes....

Requirements: get rid of Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack from required feats.

Special Abilities: get rid of Two-weapon versatility and Two-wpn spring attack and replace them with Gtr TWF (at 5th level) and possibly something else at 3rd....(eg: Two-wepon defense or something of the like)

Personally, I'm not a big fan of using existing Feats as PrC special abilities. A PrC should offer unique abilities that cannot be gained/replicated otherwise, imo.

For instance... I came up with my own take on the Tempest a while back that not only expanded it to a 10lvl PrC, but also included a few home-made abilities I thought up:

Two-Weapon Disarm: This ability has two applications: 1) As a melee attack... upon a successful Disarm attempt with your main weapon and while holding nothing in your off-hand, you may attempt a Reflex Save (DC 10). A successful roll means that you now hold your opponent's weapon in your off-hand. This provokes an AoO, unless the character has the Improved Disarm feat. Normal: When using a weapon to disarm an opponent, upon a successful disarm attempt, the weapon lies on the ground in the opponent's square. 2) If wielding two weapons while making a disarm attempt, for every attack you forgo making with your off-hand weapon, you gain a +2 cumulative bonus to the opposed attack roll made with your main weapon. This stacks with the Improved Disarm bonus (if the character has the feat).

Improved Two-Weapon Disarm: As per Two-Weapon Disarm, but the Tempest may make an immediate attack with his off-hand weapon at his highest BAB (incurring any and all penalties for fighting with two weapons, not being proficient with the weapon and if the weapon is not considered a light weapon).

Flanking Harrier: When flanked by two or more opponents, if the Tempest targets one of the opponents with his main weapon and the other flanking opponent with his off-hand weapon, the opponents in question do not receive the +2 bonus for flanking. The Tempest does not need to successfully hit each opponent in order to gain this ability... only target them.
